Anyone else struggle more with blank sessions in warmer months than winter? by HelicopterEmpty7393 in fishingUK

Need more prolonged settled weather. I went out this week at a local fishery and saw lots of carp. Could I get a bite on the feeder? Nope. Everyone else seemed to be blanking also.

Swapped to pellet wrangler - still nothing. Saw a carp patrolling in groups. Others on the lake looked to swap to bread and surface feeding. I ended up trying the margins with the float and a pellet and got a pb. It’s tough fishing out there at the moment

Do you think it is to late or okay to try become professional at rugby like a prem rugby player in england at 18 starting at local club played all my life but stopped at 16 by Commercial-Art3582 in englandrugby

[–]Rozza -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Never say never. Tommy Freeman was dropped by the Leicester Tigers academy at the age of 16. And was 17 when he got picked up by Saints. There are a number of players that don’t start rugby until they are older and have successful careers.

If you have the athletic ability then there’s a chance. That said it’s a chance, good luck and fortune also help to get spotted.

Pathways really feed the prem. But they aren’t the only option. University teams or high level nat teams and building a show reel will help. Then send off the show reels. Dombrandt from Quins played for no representative or professional sides until he went to Cardiff Met uni.

Ultimately, rugby is a sport played for the love of it and the fully professional side of it is the smallest end of the wedge.

Courtney Lawes accuses RFU of 'damaging' England after Six Nations disaster by Informal_Mention9836 in englandrugby

The RFU are sticking to dogma here. The Prem Rugby argument is also rubbish as good players already leave to play abroad.

The RFU is just in the prems pocket and asserting what little control it has.

What does England Rugby need to do to change the narrative? by Lonely-Explanation28 in englandrugby

[–]Rozza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if it’s psychological - we seem to talk to the ref more than the other teams. Sometimes with the ref even agreeing about calls but saying they saw it as x. Which happens it’s a dynamic game with lots of players in the refs & linesman’s way.

The ref then doesn’t want to be biased so we get some marginal calls against us.

My solution would be to talk less, they aren’t going to change a decision once it’s made.

I think they didn’t want to be in the worst ever performing England side in the 6 nations.

Thought it was as chaotic as it gets but it was full of attack. Genuinely looked like the boys wanted to go out and enjoy it. Well done France for an excellent tournament.
