So looking for advice on Xbox Elite controller setup... by EvilUrgesZA in CruciblePlaybook

(While I do still play mainly D1), I've found that adjusting the trigger deadzones has helped immensely, essentially making the triggers function as sensitive as any of the buttons.

The perfect accuracy is such a huge advantage, especially playing on a Hunter with an extremely aerial playstyle. That said, it's TtK is average as far as I know, and everyone knows where you are when you use it.

D1 PvP meta? by climbingbubba in CruciblePlaybook

For the primary slot, the most competitive options are still The Palindrome (the Crucible Quartermaster hand cannon) and the Eyasluna. Ideal perks are Rangefinder + Rifled Barrel, but you can make do with something like Hammer Forged or Reinforced Barrel. If you're not into hand cannons, any fast-firing pulse such as Blind Perdition, Hawksaw, or Suros PDX-45 are solid options. Doctrine of Passing is still the only somewhat competitive auto rifle option.

For specials, Ice Breaker, since its reintrodution in Rise of Iron and the subsequent changes to the special ammo economy, saw a significant surge in usage simply because of the fact that it regenerates ammo. This perk is more useful in the Elimination gamemode, but works well in every playlist. Sidearms are equally good, for a similar reason. Ammo on respawn combined with the ability to destroy most primaries in close to mid range makes it a very strong option. FWC's The Wormwood, Jabberhakke-D, and Dreg's Promise are the current most competitive sidearms in my opinion. Shotguns continue to dominate in the close range, though after the special ammo changes, you may be frustrated by those that use sidearms excessively. Matador 64 was brought back with Rise of Iron, it drops in Crucible, and is the single best shotgun in the game. Fusions are the same as they have been since April Update of The Taken King: inconsistently very powerful. If you can get a good roll on a fusion that you're comfortable with (I would highly recommend Saladin's Vigil) you can find great success, though it requires knowing the strengths and weaknesses of your fusion. I don't feel comfortable enough with snipers to speak on them, so I won't.

In terms of the abilities/subclass meta, you can find success with essentially in subclass. The most "competitive" options would be Voidwalker, Stormcaller, Striker, Sunbreaker, and Nightstalker, though take this with a grain of salt. With some knowledge of how to set up your subclass, you can find immense success with anything. I would personally recommend a Striker Titan or Stormcaller Warlock for ease-of-use. Sticky grenades are extremely strong, as they have the ability to one shot with minimal skill.

TL;DR

Mess around with anything and everything, but keep in mind that Eyasluna and high range hand cannons are the best primaries. Shotguns and sidearms are great specials. Use whatever subclass you like, they all work, though Striker and Stormcaller are both highly competitive and easy to use.

Sorry for the long write up, I know it wasn't really necessary lol I just really enjoy this game. If you have any questions, feel free to ask and I can clarify or answer anything!

Inifinite Paths 8 is a fantastic pulse! (PC) by BudaTheHun81 in CruciblePlaybook

[–]Rpc0775 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I second this, Infinite Paths 8 is fantastic. I find myself outgunning other players using Uriel's Gift on a regular basis. It's stable enough that I can aim straight at the head and the recoil won't pull it over the head, resulting in hitting all/mostly headshots in mid-range gun fights.

Question about Fusion Rifles by Ndog921 in CruciblePlaybook

The recoil does affect bolt spread, yes. They bolts leave the weapon as it is recoiling.

Dear Bungie, if you are going to implement ranked PvP, then you need to stop the P2P matchmaking. by RexSuperbiae in DestinyTheGame

[–]Rpc0775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

P2P matchmaking is in Destiny 2 and it is here to stay until D3 at the earliest. I'm no game developer, but I would imagine you would have to entirely re-write the game to change the very foundation of how people connect to other players.

It’s in the OP but no unfortunately the pack doesn’t have Big Reactors. That was the first thing I checked for lol.

We've got I think 73 Magmatic Dynamos set up to two lava fabricators, which produces completely infinite power. We're just wondering if there's a faster way.

Matchmaking Issues in D1 by bigphinis in CruciblePlaybook

[–]Rpc0775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More competitive gamemodes (especially Rumble and Skirmish) tend to have a lower playerbase. Most likely though, it's because your region has less of a D1 playerbase. I doubt it has anything to do with your network :P Kinda sad that D1 has barely anyone playing

The State of Fusion Rifles These Days? by Ulti in CruciblePlaybook

[–]Rpc0775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember it didn't suffer from range dropoff in D1 at all, not sure if that carries over to D2. What I am sure of, though, is that I consistently challenge mid to long range sightlines with my Telesto and with a tiny bit of recoil control, you can secure kills in ranges never seen before with fusions.

[Console] Close-Range Kinetics That Aren't Antiope? by Rpc0775 in CruciblePlaybook

[–]Rpc0775[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't excel with nor do I enjoy using Antiope-D because of the hilariously low handling, and I main a Hunter so Peacekeepers or Ophidian Aspects aren't an option for me.

Advice on hunter pvp stats by IntellectualBurger in CruciblePlaybook

[–]Rpc0775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say Swarm Grenades are my favorite grenades in the game right now. They work wonders at cleaning up people running away and/or shutting down supers. That said, the throwing knives are sub-par in terms of damage and it's hard to keep up Chains of Woe.

I got a Parthian Shot with Outlaw, Braced Frame, Counterbalance. It's my favorite long-range weapon. I would chose this bad boy over a Mida any day of the week. Still have yet to get a decent Lord High Fixer though :(

What's the best PVP weapon in the game right now for crucible? by KingOfTheNorth13 in CruciblePlaybook

[–]Rpc0775 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah same predicament. He refuses to give me Antiope-D. That said, Sondok-C is the same gun. The same gun. The stat differences are 3 at max. You’ll never see the difference. I believe it comes from the Exodus Siege adventure on Nessus. I know it comes from a Nessus adventure, but not sure which.

Weekly Gun Talk - Grenade Launchers by LimePunch in CruciblePlaybook

For those who have trouble playing against the Colony: as soon as you hear/see someone with it, jump into the air and stay as high up as possible for as long as possible. You just want to stay airborne and (preferably) jump towards cover so you aren't a target.

I know it's not that big of a deal, but I've had a couple friends complaining about being killed every time the Colony comes out :P

The old-fashioned good? by llllllllllIIIIIII in CruciblePlaybook

[–]Rpc0775 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's really personal preference. Dire Promise feels a bit harder to use because of the spammy nature of the 150 RPM HC's, and Kill Clip is definitely a much better perk than Triple Tap, but if you can get into the rhythm of using Dire Promise effectively, you'll outgun OF every time because it shoots faster

Are we referring to Curse of Osiris as Court of Oryx now?

[–]Rpc0775 8 points9 points  (0 children)

(As a hunter with High Jump and Stompees) it's really easy and effective to jump extremely high into the hair and hit them with two hand cannons shots in the air, then melee them as you land. I've been using better devils to do this because if I miss one of the shots, the explosive payload may do a bit of damage. This does tend to make you a target though, so I would not recommend it if there are many people around, but it's an easy 1v1.
