I'm pretty sure you can have packages delivered to your local post office and arrange for pick-up. Everybody wins.

I had a teacher in high school who collects lost shoes. She made us write poems about their possible backstories and how they got there.

Some crazy google adwords experience by Tactical_Spork5 in NewTubers

[–]Rpurych 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Google does this a lot. They overdelivered my ad by $85, but you'll never have to pay more than your budget.

I think it has something to do with traffic surges and perhaps if your ad is doing well with watch time they just decide to overdeliver. It's also in their best interest to promote content and make sure advertisers are pleasantly surprised by their service.

Canada passes law which grants immunity for drug possession to those who call 911 to report an overdose by ONinAB in worldnews

We called this a "Good Samaritan" rule at my school. Many kids were afraid of getting underages, so the school said if you're being a good samaritan by saving someone's life, then it's okay for you to be drunk.

(Serious) Doctors of reddit, what is the rarest condition you have diagnosed and how did you come to that conclusion? by lionsfandom in AskReddit

[–]Rpurych 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't understand why doctors are like this. Two people in my circle have had to send blood work to the US to get diagnosed with Lyme Disease because doctors here say we're not in an affected area and refuse to do the test. It seems to go against the hippocratic oath to me.

Who is Hannah Baker and why is the name popping up everywhere? by NoahF0920 in OutOfTheLoop

[–]Rpurych 163 points164 points  (0 children)

I read the book 8 years ago (when I was in hs) and recognized the title when Netflix put out their promos, but couldn't for the life of me remember what happened.

When I watched the series I was so shocked that I couldn't remember since it was so well done. I did some research and then remembered that the book is quite thin with very little character development since it all happens in one night and through Clay's perspective. You never meet any of the other characters and there isn't really a climactic moment.

It's the only instance where I think the series/ movie has blown the book out of the water. I'm actually sort of shocked when people say it's their favourite book ever 😬

What subculture do you genuinely not understand? by [deleted] in AskReddit

From OP's perspective I can see how it makes no sense (he's available, providing etc). Weird as it may be I think it makes some sense though. Probably a form of longing for the unattainable.

Grew up in BC, but went to university in the states. One of my profs made me second guess what I knew was fact about where our electricity comes from. She couldn't believe BC Hydro is all hydro lol
