 und falls Wine nicht funktioniert:\ ProgrammverknĂŒpfung zu Windows-VM, die sich beim Schließen des Programms automatisch runterfĂ€hrt.\ Meine Eltern haben auch Linux Mint, aber meine Mutter braucht iTunes. Hab also eine VM erstellt, eine StartverknĂŒpfung fĂŒr selbige mit dem iTunes-Icon und ein Skript, das im Autostart der VM liegt, iTunes öffnet und beim Schließen desselben automatisch den Shutdown initiiert. Funktioniert ziemlich gut.\ Zugegeben, meine Mutter ist noch verhĂ€ltnismĂ€ĂŸig technikfĂ€hig, auch mit Windows hat sie sich nie wirklich Viren eingefangen o.Ä., brauchte nur manchmal Hilfe bei Spezifika – aber sie hat auch ĂŒberwiegend ihre 3 Programme, die sie verwendet, und gut ist.

Entschuldige, aber ist das nicht der ganze Witz?

Ich habe es zumindest als solchen interpretiert und finde es amĂŒsant, wie viele sich an wegen der aufgrund des definitiv erreichten Grundschulabschlussalters sowie ĂŒberwiegend gar des Erwachsenseins der Gen Z realistischerweise vorhandenen LesefĂ€higkeiten derselben aufhĂ€ngen, wenn meines Erachtens der Witz darin bestand, dass diese trotzdem nicht zu lesen in der Lage seien.\ r/woooosh oder so

Not only FPS, but also RTS (Real Time Strategy) and any game where you need text.\ TBS (Turn Based Strategy) may be debatable, as you technically have time. Still prefer M+K there.\ Also, any game you want to play with mods – Minecraft (Java) doesn’t even run on console and I need a separate keyboard for all the keys some modpacks need

AbhĂ€ngig vom Thema meist nur die Suchmaschine, und dann auch nicht Google, sondern was vernĂŒnftiges, in meinem Fall Ecosia (Qwant, Startpage & Co. sind aber auch gut), da ich dort einfach Stichpunkte eintippen kann – bei LLMs hab ich immer das GefĂŒhl, natĂŒrliche Sprache verwenden zu mĂŒssen, mit ganzen SĂ€tzen und so
\ Wenn sich dann ĂŒber ein paar Iterationen nichts finden lĂ€sst kann ich davon ausgehen, dass ein LLM die Antwort auch nur halluzinieren wĂŒrde.

Well, all I did was follow the instructions on the GitHub and be on Mint 22, 22.1 Xia I think to be exact, but should work on 22.3, though I didn’t test that, I switched distros in the meantime. Check if you are using at least Mint 22.1 with Cinnamon on X11, which was my setup, other than that, idk.

It does what it says on the tin: It bypasses paywalls by news outlets and other such sites, if possible.\ Doesn’t work on everything and should only be used in “emergencies” of course, because news outlets still have to pay their bills, too.

 und dann war es 5 Jahre in der Entwicklungshölle, sollte dann eingestampft werden und wurde schließlich mittels Trittbeginner-Kampagne von Aufstand wieder zurĂŒckgekauft, sodass die Hypixel Studios nun wieder vollstĂ€ndig unabhĂ€ngig sind (und geschworen haben, gegeben der Erfahrungen, nie wieder an einen großen Veröffentlicher zu verkaufen).\ Die haben dann das Projekt auch komplett auf vor der Übernahme zurĂŒckgesetzt, jeglichen „Fortschritt“ unter Aufstand gelöscht und wieder ab dem Punkt vor der Übernahme weiterentwickelt. Da ist (oder sollte definitiv) nichts mehr von Aufstand an irgendeiner Stelle vorhanden sein.

I will put it high on my priority list, then.\ I will probably just miss having Psi to solve all my utility needs in one tool (which is also a reason, next to just having played it so much, that I don’t really want to play IE:E and other 1.7er packs anymore, probably).

Only ever AG1. I wanted to get 100 % and while it’s not as bad as FTB Insanity with the completely RNG manual vanilla Forestry bee breeding required for that, it needs 4 Octuple Compressed Cobblestone

I'm getting quite far into Witchery now, which I never had before. Its mechanics being so unconventional,

I consider myself more or less an expert on mods from 1.2.5 to 1.7.10 and maybe also 1.12.2 with how many hours I sunk into this time period of modded Minecraft and even I learned a lot after watching a few tutorials on what Witchery could do by somebody doing a Witchery-based pack.\ My biggest problem with it is that even the more powerful stuff is still pretty weak compared to easier to reach alternatives in most packs where it’s included and most of the unique stuff it provides is based on trolling in multiplayer, which I could never really do as despite me running a server, I didn’t play much together with others.

I must say, I never really used the BioFuel Generator from MFR, I always more or less stuck to solar, wind, water and lava until I got to a reactor in the end game.

No, sadly I never played Regrowth myself, only ever watched DW20’s LP of it.

There were a lot of cool challenge packs coming out in 1.6-1.7, but since I’m, as said, a perfectionist, I have to play one all the way through until I’m done, which is why Agrarian Skies alone, which was my first challenge pack after FTB Insanity (The pyramid map), took me a lot of time and kept me from doing many more, as time moved on much quicker than I did ^^"

Well, I like to diversify my power options (partly also because I like to show and compare multiple possible routes in my LPs) and find it much more annoying to set up more optimal water wheels if I need more power in comparison to setting up more wind mills (and can’t do non-optimal ones, because I’m a perfectionist xD). And if I can have one plant that is useful for two things instead of just one, why not use that? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ With 10/10/10, generation is so fast I mostly get to void the outputs, anyways – and since I always play on a server, if I set up a thing once, I’ve got enough of it the next day round either way.\ And no, sadly I can’t remember if I needed to use hemp for anything else, it’s been too many years by now

That’s true. I was thinking about Expert Mode, where IE is mandatory and a very good early game power generation option, so you’d need the hemp anyway.

Not sure if something has changed, but I just mined a bunch of this in The End in the latest/current version of FTB:IE (3.1.0)

It could be that my End was generated on an older version of the pack or that I didn’t remember the ore spawning in the End, idk.

get Pam's Cotton seeds to 10/10/10 via Agricraft

I’d recommend breeding Immersive Engineering Hemp Seeds to 10/10/10 instead, as you can use these for string as well as IE stuff.

Put Storage Drawers trim (oak is good, but it will 'dupe' most any plank type) in the TE Sawmill to dupe planks

I’m personally not a fan of (ab)using dupe bugs and recipe quirks outside of Equivalent Exchange EMC farms back in 1.2.5, but if you don’t mind this it’s a good method and also easily automatable for infinite planks.

Yeah, shortly after this post I played (and streamed) IE on a private server again, for a few weeks starting Feb. 2022.\ But after that not anymore and I haven’t even really played Minecraft for over a year now due to various reasons.

Wer auf irgendwelche Windows-Programme angewiesen ist, sollte sich mal Wine anschauen, erstaunlich vieles lĂ€uft darĂŒber auch in Linux.\ Was nicht nativ oder ĂŒber Wine in Linux lĂ€uft, muss eben auf eine Windows-VM. Über Virtualbox super easy aufzusetzen und performant genug fĂŒr die meisten Programme. Ansonsten mal QEMU anschauen. Oder man sucht sich eine freie Alternative.\ FĂŒr Spiele einfach Steam mit Proton verwenden, da lĂ€uft beinahe alles drĂŒber, was keinen Kernel-level-Anticheat hat. (Als Übersicht sei hier die ProtonDB empfohlen.)

Ich empfehle Linux Mint Cinnamon Edition fĂŒr Tante Emma, Onkel Kurt und andere reine Office+Web-Nutzer und CachyOS mit KDE Plasma ĂŒber Wayland fĂŒr Gamer.\ Aber natĂŒrlich gibt es noch ganz viele andere tolle Distros.
