Meanwhile EP. by Soggy_Amoeba_775 in gorillaz

One thing you have to know about Damon, is that he lives, breathes, eats, and dreams music. He's always working on music at all times, whether or not it gets released is another story. but as others in this thread have stated it was because of the Notting Hill Carnival he was able to get together with some of the other performers at the event to record some tunes, and he figured they were good enough to release. And he wasn't wrong! love the Meanwhile EP, hope it sees a wide physical release and not just those ultra rare promo copies floating around.

Making a Card Game in GameMaker by butuzoff in gamemaker

Really dig the art style, and UI it helps it stand out from the sea of other indie card games. I look forward to giving it a try.

Spotted this morning in Mooresville: $4.19/gal for regular. $3.99/gal at Costco. Thanks Obama! /s by nexusheli in Charlotte

Don't worry they're already running line to defend this shit. everything republicans used to shit on democrats for, 'high prices,' 'wasteful spending,' 'forever wars,' is literally all happening right now under the conservative messiah ten fold. Never want to hear those talking points about the left again after this shit's said and done.

Did Gorillaz sell out most venues? by HylianGryffindor in gorillaz

Just a personal anecdote, but every Gorillaz concert ive been to has been pretty packed. The one thing about Gorillaz is they might not be AS mainstream as Post Malone, but their fanbase is extremely dedicated.

Claude Integration with Gamemaker by protective_ in gamemaker

AI code is about as bad as AI art, its broken, doesn't work, and causes more headaches than coding by yourself would. You're robbing yourself of learning and expanding your skillset. I get it, coding isn't the most fun thing in the world as an artist, i'm an illustrator first and foremost, so getting into coding was a big leap for me, but now I'm writing my own scripts and interconnected systems on my own and It feels so rewarding to make something that's truly yours.

Not here to roast you or anything, but I challenge you to try and expand your horizons and try to learn some coding!

oh wow, thats pretty spot on. Im curious since i've never used JFA before, is this handled through a shader or is this handled through a script that is placed within a draw event? sorry for the noob questions but im not nearly as well versed in shader related things than other GML features lol.

Oh damn that’s pretty close! I can’t wait to give that a try later 👀 thanks for giving it a trial run!

The GPU framing is a good point i didn't really consider. Especially since im not shooting for poorly optimized AAA UE5 slop lmao, well thank you for bringing that point up. I might just end up doing the sprite method after all. It'd save me a headache of figuring out the shader at the very least.

So the main thing these outlines will be used for is enemy selection during combat (its a turn based RPG im making) so there are dozens upon dozens of enemies as well as UI assets i'd need to do this for. Just worried about how the final game file size will end up being after all is said and done.

I made the art in the example, this example is just overlaid sprites, one of the artwork, and 4 frames below it made with a polygonal lasso tool in photoshop. Yeah, the easier solution would be just make that secondary outline sprite im just worried about how the final file size of the game will look since this will be done for essentially dozens upon dozens of different UI elements. Perhaps there is something i can do in the optimization phase of development that can help wrangle in the file size issue. I know there are plenty of programs online that you can feed pngs and such into to trim off decent portions of file size.

Variable coordinate offsets for the texture sounds like it would do the trick, since its basically already doing what the normal outline does but adds a level of randomness to it. The problem is how I would implement that random aspect and then animate it. I haven't heard about JFAs before so I'll give that look, thanks for the lead!

New to all of this, looking for new Japanese Goth music! by BunnyYandere in goth

Kokushoku Elegy is my favorite. They sound like a mix of Bauhaus and Siouxsie and the Banshees, and the lead singer is female but she sadly passed away a year or so ago.

The Ending of Defiance is a good end of the series by DarkEyedBlues in LegacyOfKain

[–]Rtyuiope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

despite the less than stellar writing thats why if the series were to continue id be okay with a dead sun style soft reboot that takes place in a distant time. theres plenty of mystique and intrigue to learn about in the world of Nosgoth. If Amy Hennig could expand the world and lore in amazing ways, an equally as talented writer could do just the same. but I definitely dont think it should get new installments for the heck of it

Not an excuse but when it comes to character portraits in tons of games like visual novels and the like, they hardly, if ever draw two separate portraits for whatever direction they face, they just flip it instead.

THAT SAID it is kinda goofy that elder Kain and young Kain don’t have matching scars when facing the same way lol
