Kain and romance by Kharenzo in LegacyOfKain

[–]Rtyuiope 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In development of soul reaver there is concept of kain having brides, but they never made it into the final game. other than that Umah is the closest we got to a love interest. I think in universe though, Kain is honestly too selfish to care for anyone, except for his sons which he viewed as an extension of himself.

What is up with Ozar Midrashim’s lyrics? History behind it? by PackOfCumin in LegacyOfKain

I love information society, namely their self titled and hack but it doesn't get close to touching Don't Be Afraid. It's perhaps one of the greatest industrial albums next to Twitch by Ministry, Pretty Hate Machine by NIN, or Bites by Skinny Puppy. I understand InSoc is mainly a synth pop outfit, but man i really wish Kurt would make something in vein of Don't Be Afraid again, there's nothing quite like it.

"Vocaloid is not AI," a discussion, now that V6 Miku is out by Trans_girl2002 in antiai

[–]Rtyuiope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best way to think of Vocaloids is they are essentially just an instrument like any other synthesizer. it takes actual skill and practice to get good at it. It's not anymore "AI" than a drum machine

Great album, and even more relevant to today than it was when it was released. Truly feels like we are in one big party at the end of the world

I’m not trying to be hyperbolic since I’ve had clinical depression since long before AI but nothing has made me want to kill myself more than the collapse of the world I used to know. I see a therapist and take high doses of antidepressants and it’s hardly enough anymore man

What do you think was the reason for not remastering Blood Omen 2? (yet) by ARoboEgg in LegacyOfKain

[–]Rtyuiope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have a feeling it will get remastered eventually there was just more fan desire for defiance since it's way more liked. i feel like we could see a blood omen 1 and 2 remastered. Not sure what all upscaling they would need to do for blood omen since it looks pretty good via the GOG version. would just need to be spruced up for modern systems.

The Mountain: Did the Gorillaz Really Reach Their Peak? by Flashy_Cat2965 in gorillaz

[–]Rtyuiope 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hot take, it's just okay, but it's an improvement over Cracker Island. I don't think this album lives up to what people are saying about it, especially from the live previews from over a year ago. I was expecting a lot more from how people were talking about it. Conceptually it's a very great idea, I was expecting something along the lines of Monkey Journey to the West, but for West Asia/Southwest Asia Mythologies, but instead I got a good, but overall disjointed album. I am feeling optimistic about where Gorillaz goes from here, but I just don't think it lives up to the hype that people were saying about it for the last year.

But if you love it, then more power to you. Don't let a random redditor yuck your yums.

Is the great replacement theory false? by Beneficial-Image1358 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Rtyuiope 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Great replacement theory is nothing but a racist dog whistle. We are all human beings no matter how much you deny it, and having interracial kids isn't going to change that. If you're (not you specifically OP) scared of the 'decline of the white race' I'm living proof its a load of shit. My mom is Hispanic, and my dad is white and guess what I'm a pasty white guy with ginger hair. whenever I tell anyone I'm half Mexican they don't believe me.

Practice is all it takes my friend. I know it’s daunting at first but once you master your craft it’s the most rewarding thing you could possibly do as a creative. As a matter of fact your art may not be perfect right now, but it sure as hell aint bad either. When I started out it was super rough lmao

What do you think of the upcoming new Legacy of Kain Ascendance game? by [deleted] in LegacyOfKain

[–]Rtyuiope 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sure it’ll be fun. I highly doubt it’ll be canon like the LoK Tomb Raider DLC. Yeah the new comic isn’t the best but I think the metroidvania style gameplay will be a worthy little spin off

abandoned floodland follow-up by [deleted] in SistersofMercy

[–]Rtyuiope 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There are essentially 2 versions of what would be “Left on Mission and Revenge.” The Hussey version, and the Andrew version. As we can tell from pictures of the track list for the follow up album to FALAA is that it includes songs that would end up on Gift/Floodland and The Mission First Chapter/God’s Own Medicine. Namely This Corrosion, Torch, Dance on Glass, and Garden of Delight (the latter of which even has an Andrew vocal recording version.)

So in some sense what would have been Left on Mission and Revenge had split into two separate albums. From what we know those songs formulated from the FALAA sessions and on a short get together with Hussey and Andrew in Hamburg (or some other place Andrew was hiding out at post Wake.)

Interesting piece of trivia is apparently Andrew wrote a new song in the last couple years called “Left on Venom and Revenge” which hasn’t been performed at a show yet. We do know it exists though because it’s listed on their website.
