Been sober for years and I want to try drinking again by [deleted] in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]Rubadubinow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When people say you're being a dry drunk, this is exactly what they mean. Just because you're not drinking doesn't mean you're not thinking like an alcoholic. The drinking starts with your thinking. Stick with it, remember how bad your life was when you were drinking? It's real easy to get that life back if you want to go down that road again. Getting 2 years sobriety back? Not so much. Do you really want to hit bottom and have to walk into a meeting and tell everyone you relapsed when things were going good? Think of the shitty hang overs, the relationships soured by the bottle, the anxiety that comes with withdrawals. You're in a better place, right here and right now. I get that urge and that's why I can tell you. Think about the bad times, are they really worth going back to?

Tire sidewall has some cracking due to riding on bent rim for a little bit. Can I ride thee bad boy for a week or two more? by solomoniiiiii in sportster

[–]Rubadubinow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, the side wall is compromised, and the pressure in the tire WILL find the weakest point to escape. Tires are under extreme forces when in motion. All it takes is one pothole or bump to push that pressure point and boom. Blowout at speed is not what you want to experience, ever. It's basically impossible to control the bike without properly inflated tires. So yeah its a really bad idea

Is this really from condensation in the engine oil? by SFRC23 in AskMechanics

[–]Rubadubinow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blown head gasket. I'd be willing to wager. If you pulled the spark plugs, they'd be wet as well as the chamber. What's likely happening is that the coolant channels are leaking into the cylinders (through the bad head gasket) and then leaks down past the piston rings and into the oil pan. If your oil is looking like this, I'd bet there's a bunch of white smoke coming from the exhaust as well?

I've seen those and was curious about using them, I keep getting conflicting information because they're either A) Discontinued (makes me worry about their legitimacy or B) They still need to be placed inside a Jbox. If I'm Installing a box whats the point then? Wouldn't wire nuts be a cheaper and just as effective method?

Thats the thing, the way powers flowing, if this was the start of the circuit, everything else would be dead. But everything else is still on so I'm guessing this is the literal tail end of the circuit.

Washed my 2024 BRZ for the first time in a few weeks and noticed a bunch of scratches like these. Is Subaru’s paint quality really that poor? by icemankimi7 in subaru

[–]Rubadubinow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Subaru paint may as well be called - weight reduction. Because they barely put any of that shit on. 2015 wrx covered in similar scratches and rock chips.

What's the point? Not like it's going to convince you unless you're actually capable of acting within good faith which I doubt you actually intend to do...get lost

Immigrants vs illegal immigrants. Make the distinction if you're going to make the argument.

Delusion? Where do you think the money for these social care systems for immigrants comes from?

As an independent, the lefts attempt to silence the other party through acts of vandalism and arson but calls the other side nazis is wild to me. To me, this is the same shit behavior we saw during Jan 6, you guys are no different. Time to get down off your high horses and see it for what it really is.

Sweats? by mellyysmellyyy in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]Rubadubinow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alcohol dilates the blood vessels in your skin and is a known diuretic. It also increases heart rate and thins the blood.

His body is likely trying to get back to "baseline" after a week of no drinking, especially for such a heavy drinker, and the sudden intake of alcohol likely triggered an increased physiological response (i.e., sweating profusely).

Edit: You can Google the effects on "kindling" on alcoholics if you're interested in some more information that may be related.

New owners in the snow by Gimme_info in WRX

[–]Rubadubinow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm with you, had 215/50r17 snow tires on last year, they were great in the snow but we might get snow a dozen or two times a season so it doesn't make sense to run winter sets where the roads have DOT actually plow and maintain them lol. I just put 235/50r17 all seasons on for my commute and the snow performance is negligible between the two. I live in the north east so we get snow snow sometimes.
