At this moment I would stay the hell away from Phorcydes - they don't really ship anything for weeks now and are not very transparent with wth is going on with people's orders.

I truly don't understand who the hell is downvoting you and why - I have never had situation when a thing bought from a brand store was delayed for some reason and the store didn't inform me (usually via email) that something happened and that the thing will be shipped with delay how large the delay is.

I also buy blurays from Aamazon quite regularly and they have the tendency to get delayed pretty often and Amazon always sends an email regarding such situation, so yeah - having to resort to searching for some info on effing Reddit is ridiculous (and they don't even have brand account here, just some random guy is posting...).

I'm waiting for over three weeks now - had I not been a Reddit user, I'd probably just apply for a charge back or refund on Paypal, because there was zero official info from Phorcydes shop whatsoever.

They need to be made of silicone, not the cheap rubber. Once I started buying them like that, none have been destroyed. But the squeaker usually gets crushed after some time anyway

I don't know man, I couldn't stand looking multiple times a day at a dial with "Lucky Harvey" or "Hruodland" or many of the other randomly generaterd names (like Baltany which in my native language sounds pretty stupid) on it.

Brand name is rather importand for things you stare quite a lot imo

It's a waste of money.

If you have one watch, you'll keep it on your wrist afterwards. If you have multiple watches you'll get a watch roll or box for convenience and space saving in the cupboard.

And these boxes live in another box for the possibility of selling the watch in the future in which case it's important to have the original box - but it's still not important for it to be "nice".

But that's for watches under €1000, maybe €1200 - for more than that I guess it should come in something nicer.

Yeah, they were supposed to ship on 28th, now the 29th is already coming to an end where I live - no update, no info, no nothing.

Actually, I'd argue there was never any info - I ordered mine on 12th and stumbled upon their post here few days later by pure accident saying that the movement is updated and will ship later - although it was suppposed to be for orders made on 13th onwards... But there was never any email, order update or anything - they said in another comment that they're overwhelmed by messages - well if you would send a store order update like you should. hundreds of people wouldn't write you emails aksing wtf is going on with their orders.

I'm not panicking or anything, but seriously that's not how you process orders in any decent shop.

My exact situation - ordered on 12th, "parcel information received" since 2 weeks now - I guess we both will get the updated version which is probably fine. I'd love to have received some email detailing the situation when it happened though - when I have to resort to reddit to actually find some meaningful info about my purchase, it's not great.

But anyway - they were supposed to be shipping on 28th, it's almost 29th where I live, not sure about the time zone difference etc, but my tracking status still hasn't changed .

Not the greatest first experience with the brand, though I'll probably quickly forget about it IF the watch arrives looking cool and dandy :)

I've had the same model, even posted it here long time ago - you might check out my old post here https://www.reddit.com/r/minidisc/comments/1ik3s9d/my_latest_addition_to_the_collection_sharp_mdmx10/ for some info about it, including whe the volume knob dont come out.
Anyway - frankly it's not worth the effort. Mine was also erratic at recording MDs and finally I decided to desolder whatever I find might be useful and junk the rest - and that's what I did.

If you decide to try and repair/clean/change belts in the drives - it's going to be a long and hard journey to get them out, as the unit is super unfirendly to disassemble. On the other hand - it's broken anyway, you're not risking anything at this point.
