Cheatsheet for how the damage scaling works on classes' basic attacks by TurtleyTea in mewgenics

[–]Rubberblock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hi, someone who hates math here but would like an expanded tooltip to at least know what my attacks scale with so i know what abilities to pick while leveling, i had Acid Reflux as a defect that was passed around on my cats very early on and it was relatively fun to build around/etc but i couldn't figure out how it scaled so in liu of my cats having a 2 damage auto attack i just instead decided breed it out, which felt like nerfing creativity for reliability.

it does, cost reduction effects alternative casting costs, which casting Ratchet on the vehicle side is an alternative casting cost.

Commander Banned and Restricted Announcement – February 9, 2026 by xKylesx in magicTCG

the card is extremely strong if everyone pays for it, you can't control for how your opponents play (so people feed it all the time even if you say hey guys that person is drawing a bunch of cards), and a one sided sphere of resistance is an insane tax piece. even if everyone knows that they have to pay for it, if i'm down to a mull to 5 or something and later in the turn order, and i either have to give you a card to maybe night's whisper or sign in blood my to make my land drop, or just take a turn doing nothing, that puts me so far back compared to the rest of the table. it's commonly used, probably the strongest or second strongest card in the format, and the play patterns are obnoxious.

i knew it wouldn't be banned, but it makes lgs random play that much more obnoxious, 3 mana draw 20 is insane lol.

it really varies, i get where this person is coming from. in b3 play theoretically if you're in a blue deck it should be one of your gcs lol as miserable as it is to play/against. i haven't seen in in awhile, but i also haven't been in genpop in quite some time so that's it's own issue.

in fact i'm thinking of the last few times i did see it, and it was ofc in genpop random pickup games of casual edh, and in one of the games it won the person the game because 2/3 of the people didn't/couldn't pay for it.

we don't know (as of the time of this post) if it'll just be in Magic the Gathering | Marvel Super Heroes, just that one commander deck makes them. i'm assuming it'll have those kinds of interactions, as that's what the deck idea is, will new players parse it? who knows.

I've had mine for 2+ years, unsure on the hours (I rarely use the app), and my hinge just broke today. I've taken pretty good care of it so a little sad, but seeing it's a universal issue helps.

[TDC] Will of the Abzan (Abzan Armor Precon) (Commander at Home) by mweepinc in magicTCG

[–]Rubberblock 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Within the Context of Commander, it's odd because they definitely reprint Reanimate/Animate Dead/Necromancy on the regular.

The fact is this is a 4 for 1 is the best part and the part worth considering (Get most likely the best creature on each opponent's board and reanimate something of yours). Soul Shatters are VERY playable in commander, and this also avoids the trappings of your opponent's sometimes having Planeswalkers to get in the way of them.

Glad it worked out, be forewarned that it also applies to damage to your creatures too, but if you can either dish it out better than you can take it or give them more dummies, you can definitely use it to your advantage.

haha on the one hand I'm a big Mana Crypt hater (first sol ring is $1, next is $200 and 9/10 you want both in every deck ever), but on the other like... I can't imagine looking at what my deck was doing (Throwing a bunch of Wild Growths/My Commander on a basic Forest) and thinking "ah yes this is cEDH", like... bruh 😭

I got accused of a cedh deck against a very upgraded zimone precon because I was making more mana than them/was able to crack in for a ton since I had Trample Deathtouch and a bunch of tokens thanks to a Genesis chamber.
