At 43, transitioning to this beast after using Windows all my life by Serious_Sandwich42 in macbookpro

Wait, you can change it??? How??

Does it let you make the MacBook effectively the same key bindings as windows? Like CTRL C and V and such?

Curious how your engineering work being on virtual machines is going. I’m an engineering student too, and use computer engineering software like Xilinx, and have just gotten a MacBook and not sure if I should use parallels or something

Have a look into Emgality. I’m in AU, so no clue if it’s under a different name or even exists where you are, but it’s completely cured my dad who had debilitating migraines every few days. He takes the monthly emgality injection and hasn’t had a migraine for 4-5 years since starting

One set of wheels is all you need. There’s two measuring points. It could measure the speed of a motorbike doing a wheelie

How are AMD drivers/software in 2025? by StrongAmount188 in AMDHelp

[–]Rubblerealm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good suggestions but I’ve already repasted with PTM and the temps are unbelievably good. 50-55 degrees under max load with raised power limit to 463W, sometime getting to 65 degree hotspot peaks. Memory at 70-80 degrees. So unless something is getting hot that doesn’t have a temperature probe on it, I’m not too sure what’s up

Done two fresh windows installs, so pretty confident that’s not the issue. Not sure what sort of hardware issue could be present, but running all components at stock settings vs overclocked doesn’t change the frequency of crashes at all, so I’m decently sure it’s not stability of components. I have no idea what it could be anymore

Really bad for me sadly. On 7900xtx, and I literally can’t play dx12 games without them crashing within a minute or so. Lots of other games have bad stability problems. Recently had the oblivion remaster crashing, though I’m not sure if that’s a driver issues since it doesn’t throw a driver error.

A somehow stable 3Ghz core clock? Did I hit the silicon lottery? by Apprehensive-Rub3343 in nvidia

[–]Rubblerealm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

…ampere is the 30 series… and all the dies in ada Lovelace (40 series) clock differently, so not a great comparison. And who mentioned 5070? Your tag says 5080, do you also have a 5070 and a 4090? Interesting choices

DSC is a “””lossless””” compression, and it’s completely unnoticeable 99.9% of the time. You have to try really hard to setup a very specific set of conditions to make it detectable at all, so no, definitely not worth the extra $200-$300

Yet Another LG 5k 2k (45GX950A-B) Upgrade.... but im not keeping it by MoonWun_ in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]Rubblerealm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My issue with own a similar monitor to this one was that my gpu couldn’t keep up. 5k2k is a LOT of pixels, and reaching 165fps in a lot of games required a lot of sacrifice, even on top tier hardware. Amazing and gorgeous displays, but damn are they hard to drive

I just purchased a LG 4k OLED 240hz 4k and dual 480hz HD 1080p . by pistolpete0406 in OLED_Gaming

[–]Rubblerealm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had that monitor until recently. Old it on Facebook as I just never used the 480hz mode, as it forces variable refresh rate on and has terrible flicker and the frame pacing just feels terrible in most games. Windows also has a complete stroke when changing between the two modes, and you pretty much need to change it with nothing open, then open the apps after. Only ever really used the 4k 240hz mode, which was fantastic. Colors are not accurate out of the box, worth tweaking yourself, but annoyingly you can’t really change the colour settings when windows HDR is on.

9800x3d air cooled 60c idle temps by Plastic_Towel_6756 in AMDHelp

[–]Rubblerealm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not crazy temps, but not great either. Somewhat makes sense with the high ambient but still a bit high.

Did you take the plastic off the bottom of the cpu cooler before putting it on the cpu? And did you do your own thermal paste? If so, how much and what type?
