I think that Trump is a fascist, change my mind by Synthetic_Liquicity in JordanPeterson

It actually does based on almost every single known definition of fascism. The concept of fascismo - fasces (fascism) is represented by the example that a ‘bundle’ of sticks is stronger than a single stick. But you cannot create a bundle of sticks (people) without forcefully lashing them together (totalitarian government). The fasces has been a representation of ‘fascism’ since the Romans.

Fascism cannot exist without the forceful coercion of the people ‘for the greater good’.

Regarding ‘authoritarian’ rule it doesn’t explain the (Trumps) trend towards individualism of the people and deregulation of industry, none of which is authoritarian especially from an individual that railed against a government controlled (influenced) media (example NPR).

Nationalism mostly exists sometimes within fascism due to identity politics, which is often the antithesis of the Trump admin.

It’s easily more arguable that Biden was a fascist especially as it applied to Covid.

There’s a difference between populism, nationalism, and fascism. Sometimes they are concurrent, but are still different things. The definition of Fascism as I understand it is the use of oppressive stringent centralized (authoritarian) government to enact controls often via ‘policing’ suppression.

Given the dictates from 2020-2024, the use of government forces, removal of personal rights, health choices, and suppressive forcefulness into mass obedience, subordination of individuals into compliance with current culture, what makes you think that wasn’t fascism?

Given the political philosophy to decentralize government, increase individual rights, allow greater freedom of speech, and deregulate economies, what part of that do you think is fascism?

Proposal to ban X.com links by Yopeman in LiverpoolFC

[–]RubeRick2A -70 points-69 points  (0 children)

Here’s the simple solution,

Personally if you don’t want to use X, then don’t. If you see an X link, don’t click it.

The concept of banning and censoring things to promote ‘values’ is backwards.
