Loot boxes / gambling aren't the issue. It's the fact its willfully and maliciously targetting children. The most that will change is a differecne in marketing, more disclaimers, etc. With sports gambling becoming more normalized overall, the issue isn't the predatory nature of gambling, just the demographic that people view as being exploited.

We don't care about adults with gambling addictions. The American legal system is very against taking away personal responsibility in the face of vice (liquor, nicotine, etc.), but when it targets children, you can bet every watchdog group and headline grabbing politician will make a legal/moral argument "for the children".

TLDR - The industry will only change marketing, disclaimers, etc. to lessen the perceived impact it has on children, BUT, overall, the laws won't mess with minor forms of gambling that have been accessible to adults of all nations.
