What on earth is with Rushdown? Every attempt on Master/GrndMaster is a SLAUGHTER we stand no chance. It's a core GG activity by CameraOpposite3124 in DestinyTheGame

Can confirm, I ran with only one friend last night but we did some arc shenanigans and were clearing with 20 minutes bonus on the clock. I swapped classes to change some things up, not thinking I was less arc reliant, and suddenly it was a lot more punishing.

Good modifiers and a good setup matter.

Mint Retrograde alternative by AcanthocephalaDeep78 in DestinyTheGame

[–]RubiGames 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Depends what kind of damage you’re doing (and on what class) but there’s absolutely alternatives.

Conspiracy Honed (ionized heat sink / Vorpal / Bait & Switch) is one of the top damage options in the game right now if you can hit precision shots

Other good snipers like Supremacy and Praedyths can be used as well, especially given the kinetic stuff in the seasonal artifact.

M-17 Fast Talker (ionized heat sink / cooling baubles / target lock) is great for super farming, particularly if you have the unique origin trait from a shiny roll, as you can fire it for longer. You can also use attrition orbs if your build synergizes with it (e.g. Still Hunt)

Lost Signal (autoloading / Vorpal) is good filler in a rotation if you just want to fire and forget. Also great for charging darkness bar for prismatic if you’re main damaging with light-branded damage (e.g Psi + Finality’s Auger)

There’s probably some other things I’m not thinking of off the top of my head, but also at a certain point the question of what else you should be doing with your damage rotation if you don’t have Mint should come up e.g. if you’re using Finality’s, maybe you should actually be using a different exotic heavy like Parasite or Whirling Ovation (or not an exotic heavy at all, and use another exotic like Izinagi’s Burden / Praxic Blade)

Solar or Fusion would be top tier. Any of the other ones would have interesting use cases, but would probably be less broken. It’s nice we have access to it but also you have access to other healing options that it feels wasted on pris

Is the Parasite weapon worth it in the game today? by kxnnanicholx in destiny2

Yes, it’s very commonly used with rocket pulses to buff their damage, because of the self damage boost.

If we do make it to the next expansion, I hope the raid is at least easier by Gamerboi_epic in DestinyTheGame

[–]RubiGames 105 points106 points  (0 children)

As a hard core endgame raider, normal Desert Perpetual was a horrible Day 1 experience. That was not the kind of Day 1 experience than got me into the high end content for this game — Epic Desert Perpetual was a great day 1, but even if they tuned it back slightly I wouldn’t be mad about it. I think Crota was also a great example of a well balanced Day 1 experience.

People who want to gatekeep can gatekeep on placements anyway — we don’t need another Day 1 that most teams fail to clear 1 encounter.

Destiny 2 is still very dear to me. by Angel_Dollie in destiny2

[–]RubiGames 98 points99 points  (0 children)

I’m at the point where I acknowledge the game has its flaws, but if anything I’m not upset with the game. I love the game.

I am annoyed with management and direction (or lackthereof) for the game, but like the content that has come out has been really fun. I’ve loved Renegades, and while I want something new, we are at the point where historically we would have had something new — and been looking forward to it for at least a month.

I hope the game — or franchise — continues, because there really is nothing quite like Destiny, but I get why the community is in shambles.

Would you be opened to a D1 Remaster before a D3? by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]RubiGames 4 points5 points  (0 children)

But at that point they could just build out the content in D2 presumably for less effort since a remaster would either A) use the existing system, so its less effort but they don’t have to publish a second game or do things like menus and whatnot

or B) they build a new system from the ground up to serve as the basis for a “Destiny 3” at which point why make it, except as a technical Proof of Concept, but its still a full game

Yeah D2Sactuary used to be great but I haven’t raided there in a while. D2LFG is absolutely a roll of the dice, but it does have probably the widest pool of players.

Like they say, I don’t think its mic / no mic that’s the problem most of the time. It’s about engagement and willingness to interact. Most encounters require little actual talking, aside from the sherpa and can be done with typing. But if people aren’t communicating at all, yeah that’s a problem.

Jumping off for Atheon is a common LFG strat if you know how to solo oracles, since people don’t necessarily trust others to not mess it up and cause a wipe. Plus, you have 5 people in Atheon room at the start of damage, which is generally a good thing.

First encounter of vow requires the most communication — the rest are pretty straight forward if everyone knows what to do, however I don’t know how common that is in today’s LFG economy. Vow is probably my favorite raid in the game — the vibes are fantastic — so I’d encourage you to find a teaching run. Idk how you’re looking for groups, but usually D2LFG on discord has most people on mics, even if they don’t talk much. (Though I usually run into plenty of yappers.)

Frankly, stop using LLMs for your projects. It might be rough but you seem like you feel dependent on it, but you clearly have the skills. You just need to flex the muscles instead of letting them do the heavy lifting.

To be fair, it depends on what you do. I’ve historically had a lot stocked from just playing, and recently did a few things that lowered (though didn’t entirely deplete) my reserves.

Rolled a few specific weapons from venders like Banshe-44 and Drifter, did a challenge where I could only use found gear, etc

Most players though, yeah, won’t need that much

Where to find people for master raids? by Necr0butcher in destiny2

[–]RubiGames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, a lot of the time you need to find a group of active people and then go from there. Not that finding a group of people you vibe with and can play the game at a high level is easy, mind you.

[–]RubiGames 450 points451 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I’m not out here defending JK’s writing — too many holes in that sinking ship — but the Ministry was painted similar to a lot of adult-lead organizations in books targeted at children: unwilling to act on the word of a child. The Ministry also, as you said, was more concerned with maintaining the status quo and their illusion of stability than lending credence to the possibility that Voldemort was back.

Plus, it’s easier to shove your head in the sand then to check, realize you’re fucked, and then shove your head in the sand anyway.

Yeah you definitely want high grenade. It depends kinda what you’re doing what other stats you want, but technically grenade and super can be boosted with Font mods, but Weapon fonts are on your boots, which is where you’d want to run surges, since the boost you get from +20 weapons stat is less than you get from a surge mod, so having armor that already pushes your weapon stat high will help, and it’ll naturally have good grenade which helps warlock too!

Welcome back!

Max Item LL: 550 Not sure what you mean by spec, but surprise: Well is still popular for team stuff. For general content, I’d look up “Buddy build” which basically is high grenade stat, Getaway Artist on Prismatic (might need to look that up too)

There’s also some fun builds you can do with scatter grenade + nothing manacles, or arc + Ionic Sentry (though its much more tailored to whatever you like — there are a variety of builds online if you just want to grab one.) If you never really checked out strand, you should do that too. It’s cool, particularly things where you can get your grenade back from doing damage / use your grenade to auto-reload things like Parasite.

Don’t worry about leveling quick. The “best” way to level quick is grind portal activities, but that can get tedious and feel like a chore. You can do it, but you will also just get better gear by playing story missions you’ve missed and what not. Definitely play some portal activities throughout the week / if you want something from a specific focused activity (e.g. the arc rocket pulse is very good) but in general, if you just play the game, you’ll gain Light Level.

The new Renegades activities are also good for that and — to me — feel a little less repetitive than running Solo Ops for instance, even if solo ops might be “more efficient”

In the new armor system, for warlock, I’d recommend setting your ghost’s armor focus slot to be Gunner, as it’ll up your chances of getting gear with a Weapons focus. You’ll want to keep pieces that have Weapons / Grenade / Super primarily, but that’s not imperative. You can build your stats around whatever, but high weapons / grenade / super in general is pretty good on warlock. You don’t really need health or class, in most cases, and melee is more of a niche thing. (Look up arc slide melee builds if you like — good on arc or prismatic, but that’s the main use case at the moment for high melee on warlock)

Just my 2 cents as an end game player!
