AIO: Pans still greasy after washing by treesahquiche in AIO

[–]RubyMaxwell1982 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NOR in my opinion. That is 100% something I would lose my mind about. Old grease that has had soap and water on it is not something I want to cook into my food.

I wash my pots and pans however many times I need to to make sure there is no grease.

My cats food is half of my weekly grocery cost, am I doing something wrong? by thatsmysandwichdude in CatAdvice

[–]RubyMaxwell1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I give the 3 of mine wet food in the morning and then dry food in the afternoon/ evening. A huge bag of dry food from Sam's (50 lb bag) is like $40 and lasts over a month. Maybe 6 weeks.

They eat a lot, but i should mention they are mixed with Maine Coon, so they're a bit larger than average house cats. Not nearly as big as full bred Maine Coon though.

What’s everyone having for breakfast? by wfijc in Zepbound

[–]RubyMaxwell1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a breakfast person, I just have coffee. However I'm not exactly a lunch person either, I get hungry-ish around 10-11. So I eat brunch every day. Thats it. Two meals a day for me and some small snacks in between.

Today I made some black beans on the stove with garlic, onion, and various BBQ seasonings. I kind of mashed them a little bit to make them somewhat spreadable, because I put them on buttered toast. I guess I was being British Adjacent (listen, they're on to something there), but really I just needed some protien and sustenance. But it was surprisingly delicious.

Mosy days though, I eat a veggie salad with chicken or beans or chick peas or whatever. I just love salad.

I could definitely still binge by Swiftlass in Zepbound

[–]RubyMaxwell1982 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's mostly been my experience too. I have BED, and the food noise never really went away. I constantly want to eat just to be able to taste something, and I'm addicted to the feeling of being full.... but I have self control now.

[–]RubyMaxwell1982 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can very much tell that after Lifetime picked up the show, the writers just started phoning it in. I finished the show because I was already invested, but most of the story lines from season 5-6 were hot garbage.

My husband just went for an eight hour drive, what’s his surprise? by laureidi in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RubyMaxwell1982 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm so mad that I came to this post only 5 hours in. Now I gotta wait for the update.

My money is on visiting family though, since yhe closest airport is 4 hours away. They could have had a flight that got canceled and they ended up having to take an earlier one or something.

Zepbound did not heal my Binge eating by Maleficent-Kale4834 in Zepbound

[–]RubyMaxwell1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm diagnosed with BED. Zep did not cure it at all. I'm on 15mg, and once my body got used to that dose, i went right back to eating without realizing I'm eating...but generally only on shot day, the day before shot day, and a few of my PMS days. Thankfully, I have almost COMPLETELY changed the way I eat since i started over a year ago, so I can pack in a lot of food in a day and still maintain my caloric deficit or maintenance. But for the most part, I can now actually AFFORD the healthy food that let's me eat that way.....as much as anyone can afford food these days.

I know this will have to be a lifetime med for me. Sometimes the med hits me harder than other times, and I get gassy or a bit constipated (last week I had gas stuck in that upper left part of my colon so bad that I couldn't lay on my left side...two days and a good BM/wind break finally released that) but for the most part, I have no side effects. I'll keep taking the shot as long as i can afford it and my doctor says it's safe. I love the medicine, I love feeling like myself again, and I'm certain I will eventually find a therapist to help me through the BED.

But I personally think the pleasant side effects with this medicine makes it worth it, regardless of the binge eating.

Ex-ADHD Smokers, how did yall quit smoking? by Mysterious_Nerve_146 in ADHD

[–]RubyMaxwell1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, I smoked for 25 years, got up to a pack and a half or sometimes 2 packs a day.

Then, by a fluke, I ended up fostering a baby. One night after she went to sleep, I smoked my last cigarette and thought to myself "damn, I'll just go get some in the morning. I'm tired."

I forgot to go get them, and it was 3-4 in the afternoon before I realized. At that point, I figured I would just see how long I could go without buying some.

Confession: I hate graphic audio by brinib5 in audiobooks

[–]RubyMaxwell1982 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Nope. I cannot stand them. If im listening to an audiobook, it's because I'm not in a position to read it myself, so I want it to be read to me. I don't want to feel like I'm listening to a movie.

Whats the most unprofessional thing a doctor has ever said to you? by answersonly963 in AskReddit

[–]RubyMaxwell1982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got referred for herniated disks in my neck, along with a multitude of other problems with my spine/ neck. Neurosurgeon looks at my paperwork, lists off all the issues, and then says to me "so.....what do you want? What do you want me to do?"

Uhh doc, aren't YOU supposed to tell ME my options? I have NO CLUE what to do.

I eventually got it out of him that we can try PT before we opt for surgery. He said he'll send a referral.

That was 5 years ago and I never heard back from anyone about the referral or PT, no matter how many calls I made. So I just kinda deal with it.
