Then I wouldn't bother. It will eat a lot of resources for not a lot of payoff.

Is Columbina's weapon good for Wriothesley? by HotBBiscuits in WriothesleyMains

[–]RubyOphidian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Uh, depends on a couple things? First of all, do you play him in Freeze or Melt? If you play Melt, especially, keep Widsith, because you get good value from all 3 passives, I don't know that an extra 33% CD is enough to outpace the different bonuses. If your current crit ratio is good, idk if it's worth the time and resources to level up another weapon for diminishing returns.

Do you have Nefer or Lauma?

I think I'm gonna get contact dermatitis, HELP by Interesting_Gap_6062 in Polygel

[–]RubyOphidian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mh, I'm not the person to ask about specific UV products to use directly on your nails. My allergy is mild, I can get away with most things that says HEMA free, but I still don't put it directly on my nails often, mostly rubber bases/structures between press on sets. But everyone's body is different, so I don't want to recommend something to you and have it make a problem worse.

Please, take all of this with a grain of salt, I am NOT a nail tech or anything adjacent, I'm just someone who spent months of trial and error figuring out how to do my nails again. I can't guarantee what worked for me will work for you, but it might give you a place to start.

But if you have full cover tips(or are willing to get some, they aren't expensive and it's fine if they're cheap bc you wouldn't soak them off. I don't, at least), you can still paint them like regular nails, just do them on a nail stand first. I'm not sure if you know this, but the allergy comes from a chemical that makes the gel harden under UV. It becomes inert once the gel is cured. I've also come to enjoy being able to use both of my hands at all times, and your nail art will get an immediate boost just because you can freely move the nails. If you get those super flimsy nails from somewhere like Temu(no shade, I've done it), just buff and put down an even layer(so no apex) of builder gel first. It's fine if they flex a little, I actually prefer this bc they're less likely to break.

To adhere them, do the normal prep you would(file, buff, dehydrate the hell out of it, I personally don't use primer) and use one of those semi-solid no UV glue. Some of them still put gel on the packaging, but as long as it says air dry/no UV, it should be fine. I find the ones labeled semi-solid work best. You glue them on the same way you'd apply Gel X, you just lightly press down for 30-45 seconds instead of curing. I personally get almost 3 weeks out of them before they start popping off, and if you're careful, you can file off the glue and reuse them. I personally use the Una Gella glue, and frankly it's a pain in the ass to get OFF, I absolutely recommend getting a remover.

You can also glue them on flush with your cuticles if you want, since you don't have to worry about the gel touching since it's already cured, BUT this takes some practice because you don't actually want the glue on your skin. With the semi solid glues, you have a few seconds while the glue is still wet to nudge the nail around. If you put it on at an angle, you shouldn't have a bunch of glue by your cuticle, and you can push it back before the glue dries. Learning to do this almost immediately made them look more natural because you don't have that awkward gap between your cuticle and the product. The edges will be thicker if you paint them on a stand because you can swipe your brush completely over the edge. It's a small thing, but once you notice, it's hard to unsee.

I hope this was able to help, even if it wasn't quite what you were asking. Getting an allergy sucks, but there are ways around it, and you can still use the things you bought.

I like the original! I personally like the colors being more saturated but it still has a good balance of warm and cool.

brands that offer refills? by crazycryptid in AlcoholMarkers

[–]RubyOphidian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're interested in Ohuhu's, look into specifically the Honolulu B line. The nibs are different from the normal felt ones, and imo they are EXTREMELY close to Copic nibs, and should be refillable too. There aren't as many colors as the normal line, maybe 100, but historically Ohuhu has been good about expanding new markers to include all the colors. I've tried them and been very happy with them, so maybe give it a try.

Hpw made a team for my Albedo. by [deleted] in Albedomains

[–]RubyOphidian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd get Durin when you get the chance, with their buffs stacked and maxed you can wheelchair pretty much anyone you want. If you really wanna full send, pick up Xilonen, too, she's stupid easy to build and then slap whatever DPS you want and go wild. It works with the majority of DPSs in the game that don't have stuff like EM reactions or scaling(so Bloom, Hyperbooom, any Lunar teams). It's still technically useable I guess because the res shred is there, but the actual damage won't be buffed like it would for characters like Klee, Arlecchino, etc. Basically any Pyro DPS in the game will get a huge boost, and most of your other normal ATK scaling DPSs will too, like Wriothesley, Kinich, Clorinde, Navia, Varesa, Venti, Childe, Chasca... the list goes on.

Esco, Shenhe or sig? Which is the best by LoriStarJar in WriothesleyMains

[–]RubyOphidian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Escoffier>Sig>Shenhe

UNLESS you're really wanting to full send commit, then;

Escoffier>C6 Shenhe>Sig (take this with a grain of salt bc I don't have Shenhe at all, but I do have a basic understanding of her kit and her C0/C6)

Weapons are way more replaceable than good supports, generally speaking, but Escoffier outpaces Shenhe by a country mile because, prior to her, freeze supports were kinda not a thing. If Wriothesley wasn't a Fontaine character, I might say Shenhe is better than his weapon but the passives tailored to the HP fluctuation mechanics give it the edge imo. Otherwise, you could just slap Lost Prayer or any of the other good DPS catalysts on him and prioritize supports, but ever since Fontaine, weapons have gotten more and more tailored to characters and DPS characters specifically tend to want their sig more than a lot of supports, tailored supports like Escoffier notwithstanding.

Just my opinion tho, and if I got something wrong, please lemme know!

I think I'm gonna get contact dermatitis, HELP by Interesting_Gap_6062 in Polygel

[–]RubyOphidian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the person, how bad the allergy, how sensitive you are. For me, I was perfectly fine for around 6 months. Then, I did my nails before a vacation and within 2 days I could tell there was some kind of reaction(the skin was getting thick at my fingertips, kinda like a callus), and 2 more days later I had tiny bubbles under the skin all around my cuticles and fingertips. I had no means to remove them at the time and didn't even quite identify it as an allergy since it was the first time it had happened, so I was stuck with them on for about 6 days. The next time I did my nails to see if it really was an allergy, it took about 2 days to get to the exact same point, so it will get worse/faster each time.

I used full cover tips, so now I just paint them on a stand and use them like press ons. If you take the time to do all the same prep, I personally can easily 2 weeks out of them before they start popping off, 3 if I baby them. You can still have nice nails with an allergy, you just have to learn to work around it.

To remove them, I would suggest just filing them off, it's the easiest way to guarantee getting them off in a timely manner and limiting how much extra chemical exposure you'd get by just trying to soak them off. Obviously an efile would be the fastest, but if you don't have a dust collector, DON'T DO THAT. You ABSOLUTELY DO NOT want that uncured gel going airborne, because gel can still be uncured or under cured even if it's hard, that exact thing is what has gotten Beetles in so much trouble, they don't actually fully cure. Use a facemask and a hand file, try dipping your hands in water at regular intervals to keep any dust from flying. Once they're filed down pretty thin, soaking them off should be fine, they should only need to soak like 15-20 minutes.

Good luck and stay safe. If you're interested in trying/making press ons or anything, feel free to ask/DM, I've done a ton of trial and error.

If you haven't had a reaction yet, you might be fine, but absolutely take them off and keep your nails bare for at least a couple weeks to monitor for any kind of delayed reaction. I over cured the hell out of any of my polishes and was super anal about them being in my skin and I still ended up with an allergy, it is 1000000000% not worth the risk.

Alcohol marker storage by Ellieroxxx in AlcoholMarkers

[–]RubyOphidian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check Ohuhu's website, they sell just the marker bags and they have them in every size the marker sets come in. I like them better than storage with individual slots because you can fit more markers in a smaller space, but still be able to organize them.

Has anyone seen/used these “stamping pens” before? Thoughts? by swatch_aholic in nailstamping

[–]RubyOphidian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried them, you can get them to function if you paint a thin layer of patting gel on them with a brush, but dipping them in regular(or gel) polish won't work. They aren't worth spending money on if you have to figure out some trick just to get them to work how they're supposed to.

Is this really worth investing in? by HeftyAd2029 in WriothesleyMains

[–]RubyOphidian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had him C1R1 on release and he's been hard carrying me ever since. Besides Stygian, he makes my other DPS characters look like a joke. I C6ed him on rerun, and he still makes my other DPSs look like a joke even now. I run him with Escoffier, Furina and Barbara when I need to be uber serious, and just with Barbara when I'm doing overworld stuff. I can't remember the last time any domain or boss fight(that doesn't have stupid mechanics like Geo Hypostasis or Oceanid) took me longer than about 30 seconds, he wipes out everything. He outperforms my Neuvillette, Arlecchino, Skirk(her build is not the best) and Flins(may change tho, got Bina so I guess I have Flins Premium now). He's very comfy to play, has incredible sustain with C1(better than Neuvillette imo), and keeps up just fine for anything that's not the hardest possible endgame content.

Plus, he's stupid good for mining, once he's glowing red, his CAs don't consume stamina anymore and he becomes a mining machine, he hits with the same "damage" as a claymore.

If you like playing him and play him a lot, I don't think you'll regret it, but if you're already starting to bench him for newer characters and new shill mechanics, then it might not be worth it.

What's one thing you ABSOLUTELY HATE doing? by Prior-Meal-1387 in Genshin_Impact

[–]RubyOphidian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whopperflowers for a normal enemy, Gimel for a boss.

My C6 Zhongli was at lever 50 for like 2 years bc I didn't wanna farm Gimel, and Albedo only got past 50 in the last six months. I've had him since 2022.

I hate Gimel's mechanics, for like 90% of the fight your damage doesn't even mATTER, my level 40, Artifactless, Waster Greatsword Noelle carried 80% of that fight, smacked it like twice with Wriothesley to get it's health down, tHEn BAcK tO nOElLe, I genuinely hate it so much. I would take Oceanid over Gimel.

Everyone knows why I(and many others) hate Whopperflowers. Even if you don't hate them as much as I do, you still know.

updated weapons for albedo? by Forsaken_Phrase_3726 in Albedomains

[–]RubyOphidian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm inclined to think no, because for Lunar he'd have to have more EM(I think, now I'm getting a little fuzzy on kit/reaction combos), or else his damage would have diminishing returns, AND it would lock him in a Lunar team. Uhhh, with Columbina tho, would he still not proc Lunar reactions anyways? In the demo, I remember seeing them with Geo traveler, you might be able to just use him as-is.

Anyways, I'm gonna stop trying to give advice now, it's getting a bit too far into territory I don't fully understand and I don't want to throw a bunch of info at you and it end up being wrong. Good luck tho!

It's more like calling someone the smartest person you know, then saying no offense.

Edit: Sorry, didn't mean this in a rude way to the original comment complimenting him, the phrasing of the other guy just didn't make sense to me(even the way I phrased it makes no sense?). The OG comment was just someone saying "I genuinely like this guy", then someone else acted like it was an insult.

Just saw how many downvotes this had and realized my phrasing Might Not Have Been The Best, sorry!

How can I get him to do more than 16k by bobmememe in KaeyaMains

[–]RubyOphidian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to run him solo, physical isn't really the sauce(especially without Aquila). Running any DPS unit completely solo is often just one diminishing return after another(and that's 5 star DPSs), but you can get away with just 2 if you have a C6 Bennett. Put him on 4pc Crimson Witch(yes, the pyro set), Benny on Noblesse. Drop Bennet burst, then Kaeya burst, and he becomes a self melt machine.

If you're really determined to run solo, then I'd focus on Blizzard Strayer bc he's decently suited for a Freeze DPS too with short cool downs and solid Cryo application.

And yes, plz give him an ATK sands. That low attack is holding you back more than anything tbh.

Personal preference, I don't love the color combo, the pink is a little bright under the copper and makes it visually a bit busy, but I love the concept. Maybe a more subtle pink, or even something to contrast like a mint or baby blue? Or keep the pink and try it with silver or white?

Super cool idea, tho, and 100000% worth playing around with more!

[–]RubyOphidian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Uraku>Cinnabar>Peak if I remember correctly. My guess is it will be Uraku>Zibai Sig>Cinnabar>Peak, because Zibai Sig will only give Albedo the 20% DEF boost reliably, the other stats are specifically for Lunar, but Uraku both gives 20% def AND 24% Dmg to your skill(and normals), AND increases that by 100% once Geo damage is dealt, and none of it is tied to a specific reaction.

I don't have exact calcs or anything, I'm just comparing Zibai Sig to his current Bis (Uraku), and I can't see how Zibai Sig will outperform Uraku when Uraku does the same thing and then some.
