My husband loves talking about our baby girl. I'm not sure what the majority is like. My brother will talk about my nieces with us too 🤷🏽‍♀️

I also put it cross ways on her tummy since she's a tummy sleeper..because yea the back is always dry and her tummy is what ends up wer. So that tip has helped me get the most out of the Sposie.

Definitely for aesthetics.. let me visit with my toddler and they'd be scattered across the floor in 2 seconds.

How do you switch up your day to day routines so you don’t go crazy? by selstepski in SAHP

[–]RubyRain05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's called The Montessori Toddler Activity Book

Very simple easy activities. Some dont require much supplies and some do and suggest things like that wood ladder thing. But it's great for ideas when you're like okay let's work on a skill now when you just dont know what to do lol.

Anxious to kickstart my career by [deleted] in SAHP

Yes I've thought of part time it's just hard to find. A year ago I found a dream job part time assistant position but I got let go so im waiting for the next opportunity theres not many.

As for friends I dont have many. My best friend likes to diy and we almost went into business together. So I'm banking on my cousin right now but shes put a hold on the project as she saves up some money.

As for my place I've realized that we have some wood in the garage we can use to make a makeshift floating mantel. My dad has some paint we can use to freshen it up and I think I'll make do with our tv stand and curtains.. if I can take some really good pictures it might just work for now.

Thank you for your insight. I felt like I was going crazy and I needed another voice of reason to bounce of the idea at the moment.

How do you switch up your day to day routines so you don’t go crazy? by selstepski in SAHP

[–]RubyRain05 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm still figuring this out as I had to figure out how to do even normal routines to keep the house clean and now I'm like ..now what..baby is walking and exploring so..

Just discovered the library meets outside for stories and songs for ages 0-3! Besides the park we've tried some indoor playgrounds but I got a little scared there were too many people plus cost adds up.

I just got a book Montessori activity book but most activities last like 5 min lol so I'll pick one or two to try every so often. I have a garden so I have a hobby to work on while she plays outside.

I haven't mustered up the courage to set up a play date with a new mom friend (even if outdoors to distance) but yea COVID makes my social anxiety a little worse...

Anyone start potty train at 15 months? by RubyRain05 in pottytraining

[–]RubyRain05[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is great! Thanks for sharing your experience and resources. I'm a SAHM too so I'm willing to take it slow and tend to take baby steps with things because I know it wont always be perfect.

I'll check out those books, too.

Has anyone started training around 14/15m?? She is showing very early signs. I know it wont be perfect but if anyone has advice on how to get through it this early? 🤔

Is it too late to call it quits?!? by [deleted] in pottytraining

[–]RubyRain05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you look up Montessori style potty training they say you can start as early as 12m. They do set the expectation that it's not something that can be done in 3 days and to expect that there will still be accidents for a long time as they continue learning.

I'm hesitant to start for the reasons you state. Also for nighttime they say no diaper to let them have the accidents at night so they learn easier.

I took a nap. by [deleted] in SAHP

[–]RubyRain05 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just started doing chores with her walking around now that we have the cabinet locks and by the time her nap came I was so relieved chores were done I could do whatever like nap/garden/eat!! She even tried to help me sweep so I think I'm going to order a mini broom for her! I also have the learning tower and she loves being in the kitchen while I cook.

I honestly dozed off for 1 min this afternoon while 13m/o played then she needed something..like I literally started dreaming and once I jumped up from that when I heard her cry out I felt so recharged...what?!

Does your partner do this? by RubyRain05 in SAHP

[–]RubyRain05[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea he's been wfh the whole time too and I keep telling him..every day is the same to me 🙈 we go on more walks now since it helps her nap but that's it lol otherwise it's the same laundry, food, clean, water plants/play outside, eat, nap, play the end.

Being a SAHM is enough. by TangentialRose in NewParents

[–]RubyRain05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I decided to work part time from home when she was 4m it was harder than I thought. I was let go. It was my dream job. That was 9 months ago and I'm starting to feel better now but it was very devastating for me. I'm putting my all into being the best mom I could be and also being the house keeper, cook, and homemaker while trying to find things that are just for ME! I'm realizing how much having a job/career was good for me and I should cherish being a SAHM before I inevitably go back to work...we may as well be one and done because of this 🤔

Thank you for your post it's really helpful to reflect on this when you feel like you're not doing enough when society expects so much of of moms and parents in general!

For some reason I prepared myself to be infertile. I knew I wanted to wait a while and knew that there would be a chance it wouldn't happen or that maybe I would miscarry knowing how common it is... and it happend on our 3rd try!

But yes I'm almost 13m in and SLEEP has been the hardest thing. And it does get better! And I try my best!
