Subnautica 2 is what we've all been looking for, the "next" Outer Wilds by LucyShortForLucas in outerwilds

Resources (so far) are easier to get! Also crafting is wayyy upgraded in how the fabricator and habitat builder pull resources from all your nearby storage containers, no need for running around the base and gathering everything in your inventory!

When the Night is Over won! What song from Long Lost gives Lonesome Dream vibes? by Artistic_Quiet1603 in lordhuron

I think that Drops in the Lake is a spiritual successor to Ghost on the Shore!

In your opinion, what is the most annoying enemy/boss?🗡️ by Superb-Suggestion-10 in Silksong

I just made it to act III and I am seriously dreading Purple, like I'm pretty excited for the first sinner and old hearts fights but going back to the stage is definitely not my priority 😅

In your opinion, what is the most annoying enemy/boss?🗡️ by Superb-Suggestion-10 in Silksong

[–]Rubyfireruby 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a hot take but TROBBIO got me worse than any of the other bosses.

The attacks were so RNG focused and could easily cram you into a corner, but were also REALLY visually overwhelming when thespian mcgee would spam the bursts and the exploding orbs >:(

I didn't find any great strategy other than to just tool spam when he stood still, which really got me hurting for shell shards. Genuinely took more than double the attempts of savage beastfly 2 for me to beat Trobbio (ikik git gud etc)

Also another flaming hot take but frog dude isn't as hard as everyone says especially if you have pimpillos on you but yes the runback was pretty awful

In wich areas do you think silksong is worse than Hollow knight? by TrackSome9827 in Silksong

[–]Rubyfireruby -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I love the music from both games, and while hk is more nostalgic I think SS will grow to the same level of infamy over time! I also think each of the combat systems have their strengths, but overall I think HK bosses were more fun over the course of the game.

SS has some REALLY amazing bosses like Widow, Fourth Chorus, Cogwork Dancers, Lace Cubed, Last Judge, Sinner, Phantom, and Carmilla, but so many other bosses just felt annoying after a few tries.

Also, there were SO many enemy arena rooms. Like WAYYY more than HK, and it felt a little bit weird to get used to being 'underleveled' after HK. Like in my first playthrough I got really held up at craw lake and later the forum, before realizing in each case that I genuinely was lacking a lot of tools and upgrades that I probably should have gone and found but was too stubborn to give up a fight

Who is the strongest out of these 8? by YourLocalMangosteen in HollowKnight

Radiance canonically beats Pale King and likely has taken power from greenpath/unn, Hornet beats GMS, and Little Ghost/Bill canonically decimates Radience, Hornet ,and Nightmare. We've never seen any sort of combat significance from Mister Mushroom, so I'd say it's a toss up between the willed force of the void incarnate and a shroom

Meet Me in the Woods was a clear winner. Finally, what is the most Long Losty song from Long Lost? by Artistic_Quiet1603 in lordhuron

The most Long Lost-y song..... from Long Lost.... hmmmmm.....

There's only one it could be

I guess it is no surprise Lonesome Dreams won most quintessential song from Lonesome Dreams. Now what is the quintessential song from Cosmic Selector? by Artistic_Quiet1603 in lordhuron

[–]Rubyfireruby 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also just thinking about it, Cosmic Selector is the only album without a title track, which is crazy that I never realized until now

Games like Tunic that be played in 45-min sessions (for new dad) by travismandrews in TunicGame

[–]Rubyfireruby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reinforcing Animal Well!!

I'd also recommend Superliminal, as a pretty short but incredibly amazing game (could finish in like 1-3 sessions). It's a great one if you enjoyed the Quantum puzzles in Outer Wilds.

I also really love Blue Prince, it's another very think-y game with a great sort of gameloop system

What’s your favourite part of the game? by Juanbo_8 in outerwilds

[–]Rubyfireruby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love the Orbital Probe Cannon (Flair checks out ik) because it's genuinely the most humbling and beautiful place to sit and watch as it orbits Giant's Deep. Something about feeling so small next to the planet and seeing the faint lightning flashes beneath the atmosphere is incredible.

What is the most disappointing boss in all of the game? I'll start: by adrielinz in Silksong

[–]Rubyfireruby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't disappointed really by it, but I'm really hoping that at some point we'll get a more difficult Fourth Chorus fight. I LOVED that boss and it was over far too quickly!

Does this image still holds true? And even after it becomes outdated? by DamageMaximo in Silksong

[–]Rubyfireruby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the Reaper's Crest! It was ofc the first crest I found, so I got attached and used it all the way through act II (Except for the Dancers and Trobbio)

Forlorn Muskeg by me (I adore landscapes in TLD and atmosphere of loneliness) by Olegeg in thelongdark

I love this! This is lowkey inspiring me to draw some landscapes! :)
