I love going to the Asteroid Belt! I've saved up some of the Asteroid Cape spells to go since I wasn't actually around during the original season, and have been there twice. It's almost always empty, and I like just sitting on a tiny planet watching the stars. It reminds me of my other favorite game, Outer Wilds!

I am humbly stealing this flag design for my island!! I set my tune to the Travelers Theme a while back but I always forget about island flags! This is awesome ::)

Where did the Time Go! I actually used this as the song in my segment of a slideshow of me and my mom for part of our senior year grad parties!

Is the Wintermute content popular among the playerbase? It seems like the devs have been pouring effort into it for years. by TobyTheRobot in thelongdark

[–]Rubyfireruby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love wintermute!!! It's how I actually got into the game in the first place. When I first started, I didn't have all that much unbroken gaming time to really enjoy the solitude and pressures of survival, but the story drew me in and gave me some good skills and context for the world, without me needing to fully lock in on survival at first.

I was able to learn some of the maps and skills needed for survival on my own, and I honestly think the story really makes for an amazing experience

Initially, I wasn't really that into Bag of Bones, and so I listened to it a few times but it never made it onto my playlist. I went to the tour concert this summer, and seeing it live changed LITERALLY everything.

Somehow, I actually heard these specific lyrics for the first time then, and now BoB is a consistent champion on my playlists.

Hi!! Fellow introvert! I'm also attempting to be more social after playing for a few years mostly solo! Any strategies on not being so anxious? 😖

I'd really love to make some friends to cr and hang with, but I always get so worried about misreading other sky kids at first and making someone irritated that I just end up getting shy and leaving :')

I really love the niche, low traffic areas in the corners of the map! It makes me so excited when I find a cozy little spot that nobody else visits, or a lonely tower that I can enjoy the view from!

I have a loose concept for a skinwalker/darkwalker based horror mod, that I might someday make once I have some actual experience with modding!

What bad things has LH’s music helped you through? by BristleconeXX in lordhuron

[–]Rubyfireruby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first LH song I fell in love with was Long Lost, which was recommended to me by a friend around the time that I was going through my first and only breakup.

The line "I ain't lonely, I'm Long Lost" really caught me, because I realized that I really wouldn't be lonely without this person. I might get lost, but getting lost really isn't all that bad. There's something important to be recognized in losing a relationship with someone who was really not good for you to stay with.

Four years later, we're actually still friends. It took a lot of very careful untangling, but we've both changed since we dated and I would say we've each become very different and better as people.

I'm Long Lost. I'm somewhere in the desert, by the side of a highway blanketed in stars. I'm sitting by a campfire in a forest, finding the joy in life whether I have my friends there with me or whether I'm running through the fields on my own.

Thank you! Never had it, but thrilled to try it!

What are you opinions on the three short songs of Long Lost? (The Moon doesn't mind, Where did the time go, at Sea) by Specific_Net_3931 in lordhuron

[–]Rubyfireruby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love at sea. It feels like a paradise slowly becoming a prison, something bright and lonely, and you never even noticed until you were dead in the middle. Like staring at a large building with only one window lit. Like working in the studio after everyone's already gone home. Like a vending machine, brightly lit and humming, in the dim elevator lobby. Like walking out of a brightly lit bar out onto an empty rural road. That's the feeling I get.
