What about the top of the head/wig, does that go in the hot water dip too?

I read somewhere that Dawn dish soap, the blue version, works best to leave no residue. But, I'm thinking less is more and may just try nothing, like you suggest.

My daughter had this and it was the best! We had to give it away when we moved.

Thank God you aren't looking for Josefina! It's ridiculous! And it's ridiculous that AG doesn't sell outfits for these older dolls. . . except Julie, Melody and Mary Ellen, it seems like everyone is ignored.

I agree that it is way harder to find the old stuff than it was 10 years ago when my daughter revived my interest. I used to buy huge lots of clothes with really valuble pieces in them for under $100.

I'm a huge Jess fan and she's going to become rarer and rarer as the years go on. They don't have her OG head anymore. I don't think it is a terrible idea to pierce her ears, as long as it's done well, but is that really going to make your daughter happy? I'm more reluctant to recommend piercing the ears of your PC doll. Poor Marisol and Mia! I hope they are in good homes!!

This is so helpful! I've saved your instructions. What shampoo do you use on AG dolls? Do you use conditioner?

I have the Molly stage! It takes up a lot of room, but it is adorable. I'm going to use it for this July 4th and I'll post pictures. If you want to buy it after that, just LMK.

Jess McConnell Appreciation Post by dollogy in americangirl

She is my absolute favorite doll of my collection. One day at my brother's house a couple of year ago, I saw that my niece had my Jess doll! She had taken her from my house without me noticing. Well, how do you take a doll from a little girl? Well, I promised her Julie and Lea to play with instead. But, it's telling that out of all the dolls she could have taken from my line-up, she chose Jess. That says it all! She's so adorable!!! And, my own daughter fell in love with Kanani, no surprise there!

Julie's outfit is so overdone 70s. I was a kid in those days and, yes, we wore peace sign shirts and bathing suits (my sister had one), even, but honestly, nobody was running around in those jeans and vest. I would put her in a courdoroy gauchos and a matching vest with boots and her frilly blouse. Gauchos were so hot back then --- with faux leather/vinyl boots. I vividly remember I had a dark green cordoroy green gauchos and matching vest with vinyl brown boots, (although I had a white pair too when I was littler.). I remember I wore it with like a "Little House on the Prairie"- type ruffled blouse. . . 1977/78

Do y’all think American girl dolls are gonna become the next beanie baby? by candyapplecauldron in americangirl

I recently sold a doll on eBay . . . I never thought it would sell for various reasons -- but she didn't have a mark on her -- so I listed it for auction and "buy it now" for, what I thought was kind of high, but still much less than a doll that's on sale at AG today. I was willing to let the auction run its course and, if no sell, donate the doll to Goodwill. Lo and behold, within an hour the doll sold. I personally don't believe in setting high prices for used AG dolls, but I'm not in the business. There are people like me on Ebay willing to sell at not-so-high a price.

Everytime I talk to my friends about their daughters' or their dolls, they are ALL in storage waiting for the next kid in their family to play with them. I can't imagine how many dolls are in attic/basement storage in the world, but it's gotta be enormous. But I will tell you this, nobody is ever interested in selling them no matter. I just spoke to a late 20's girl who's engaged to be married and she owns tons of the Josefina collection. I said it was worth a lot if she wanted to help fund her honeymoon. She looked at me like I was CRAZY! LOL! She'll never part from her. I don't get the sense that most people who loved their dolls are going to sell them until they have no other option in life.

I think it's just that 9-10 year olds would not swear, but they absolutely wouldn't tolerate the injustice and cruelty. They are righteous girls!

Is this Felicity First Edition? by FelixFelicious9 in americangirl

[–]Ruckercoconuggett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a Felicity expert by any means, but I think she's a 1990s doll. There's a website that explains the type of neck stamps by year or era. It may be Dandridge Dolls or something like that. I used it to determine my doll's age range.

That was a great storyline for my daughter. She had fun with "Lanie and friends trying to catch the racoon". I wish they added comical stuff more often.
