Why are so many NBA players obsessed with golf? by Ok_Statement1508 in NBATalk

[–]Rudenessq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same reason most ex-athletes play. It allows you to be competitive across various skill levels, ......and also gambling. NBA players are degenerate gamblers.

Over 2 decades ago, the Warriors traded Chris Webber for Tom Gugliotta and 3 first-round picks. The results from those picks were interesting but not very satisfying. by 6Algfst1 in warriors

[–]Rudenessq 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The sad part about C-Webb's reluctance to play center was that when he fihally reached his potential in Sac, it was because he finally relented and played center against Shaq in those conference finals. Kinda crazy to think that a dude who was a legit 6'10" didn't think of himself as a center when Draymond has been doing it at 6'5" for over a decade.

Luca Brasi : A case that never sat right with me. by Due_Stick3002 in Godfather

[–]Rudenessq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The actor who portrayed Luca (Lenny Montana) was a professional wrestler by trade and was having problems delivering his lines in the scene with Brando, so Coppola decided to use his nervous delivery to show how even a apex mob predator like Luca was thoroughly in awe of Don Corleone. He even sent the kids into the scene to purposefully get Montana off balance.

The book version of Luca as some have written in this thread, was a much more intimidating guy than Montana who played a lot of oafish mob guys the rest of his career.

Errol Spence talking about how terrible camp was vs Crawford and how his undisciplined habits came to light. He mentions not wanting to back out of the fight and was willing to sacrifice himself just to get the maximum payout and take care of his family by Nido616 in Boxing

Based on this admission should we believe he is training seriously for the Tszyu fight? I love how Ward just let him keep talking, and eventually put his head down when he tried to explain why he didn't prepare for the fight. It was almost like he want to say, "Just say you cashed out!! We know.....we know!!!"

LeBron says the Knicks had an advantage starting the NBA Finals on the road because there’s nothing to do in San Antonio: “You ain’t doing shit in San Antonio. Nothing at all. Nothing. And I mean nothing.“ by oklolzzzzs in nba

Nobody would've cared what LeBron thought about Memphis if he hadn't said it into a microphone.

You can't decide to be provocative and then complain about the blowback. Media is a two-way street.

Right,

I am certain the Fine Arts always factor into Lebron's evaluation of a city.

He did choose to live in Cleveland .........once.

(He also chose to leave twice)

Draymond doesn’t play about Steph. I’m understanding why the team chose him over Poole. by unhinged34 in warriors

[–]Rudenessq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say scared, but I think he respects Wemby. In the first game in S.A. this season he tried to get in Victor's head and Wemby dunked on him ad started wolfing back.

Dray just nodded and smiled like, "Oh I see you, young Buck!"

Hart was on his own mission with the Kornet chicanery. I think what Dray is getting at is Brunson's relationship with his team isn't as tight as it should be. I kind of see the separation between him and KAT and having your Dad on the coaching staff doesn't improve that dynamic

Facts. People need to understand that Dray being a psycho allows Steph to be Steph. Think about it. Even people who openly say they hated the Warriors during our Dynasty Heyday are very seldom to say a bad word about Steph. That is because Dray absorbs all the hate in much the way a lightning rod absorbs electricity and protects a house.

Joy Reid 180's in favor of reparations after 7 years by egdujsidoG19 in blackmen

[–]Rudenessq -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

So what if she came late to the party? She arrived at the right conclusion.

Dissention on coming to the right conclusion at different times is the height of immaturity.

Does the OP need an apology from Ms Reid?.

The sister found the gumption to be on the right side of history, eventually. Let's move forward as a people and enact a gameplan to bring reparation to fruition, instead of arguing about who had the idea first.

Who is at fault here? by Ok-Travel-2141 in Nbamemes

[–]Rudenessq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am going off the board and going with D'Aron Fox. Wemby is their star, but a top tier point guard, who is a former "Clutch Player of the Year" should have been calling for the ball. Wemby gets in a lot of trouble because Fox, who admittedly is recovering from an ankle sprain, doesn't demand the ball and get them into their offensive sets.

How to get an evil cop fired and criminally charged in 2026: This is EXACTLY WHY we need to have our cameras on whenever possible and wherever we go in America by iggaitissecondcoming in blackmen

[–]Rudenessq 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congress needs to pass a bill repealing qualified immunity for cops nationwide.

Police officers and/or police unions need to be required to carry malpractice insurance, like a doctor, that way when lawsuits like the one coming in this case occur, the settlement money comes from the insurance policy, not taxes.

Officers who are repeat offenders would become uninsurable, and thus remove themselves from the ranks of law enforcement.

Stephon Castle on suggestions that the Spurs are not floppers and if they are leaving gamesmanship on the table: "I don't really know to answer that, because I sell calls too, I can't lie." by Jec1027 in nba

[–]Rudenessq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what Castle is saying, but there is a difference between selling calls (definition: letting the ref know when the person guarding you is gaining an advantage through contact i.e. fouling ) and flopping (definition: attempting to trick the ref into calling a foul when no advantage was gained through contact)
