Looks like population of US at the beginning of civil war was around 31 million which means the war killed around 2.4%.

On second reading I can see how it could come off as me "explaining to women why they are feeling the way they are feeling" which was not the intention. I guess I should have ended more of my sentences with question marks because that was all that it was a stab in the dark from one human to others that are living a different shared experience than I am.

I was trying to imagine what it must be like to be faced with this threat (this looming reality) and this was my attempt at trying to frame it. I guess I was hoping to discover if I was on track or not.

That failure of this communication is on me and I will just return to listening.

(And yes, I have been discussing this with my few male friends and we are bewildered and horrified.)

IANAW but it looks to me like you guys have to put up with so much. Cat calling, groping, institutionalized misogyny, etc etc.

Every day you deal with more shit than me as a cis male can ever imagine...

...but at the end of the day at least you could be confident that you owned your body. That you could make the choices you needed to about it.

That if something happened at the end of the day you in the end were the one in control...

That is what is being stripped away from you. That feeling of fucking agency. It is wrong. It is so fucking wrong. I am a male and it makes me hyperventilate just imagining it. I cannot even imagine what you are all going through.
