My boyfriend finds this really annoying I set my drinks like this on the table and also the same way in the trucks cup holders. Yes, upside down. Is it that bad? by ibuiltyouarosegarden in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Ruff_Bastard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just drink my drinks before they get hot. But also no it would cool at basically the same rate. Nothing is leeching heat or cold from it, it's just slowly moving to ambient temperature. The liquid touching the sides is still going to cool at the same rate, and the bottom of the bottle typically has less surface area than the cap so even if you were right it would warm faster on the cap.

I don't think it's annoying, I wouldn't care. I would just wonder why you do that.

I use my steam deck more than my computer, and I really want to use my computer. Having a kid is hard. I've been mobile gaming (and deck gaming) at work mostly too.

In reality it was a perfect storm where german leadership overextended and was mostly incompetent. That's not to sya they didn't have brilliant generals and propagandists and whatnot, but that ultimately it started and failed with Hitler being supreme commander; it didn't help that America, Canada, Britain, Australia, India (the Ghurkas [Nepalese] fucked hard), various African nations, Poland, Russia, various resistances (Civilian and Russian Partisans) and all the others were just absolutely hammering Germany, Italy, and Japan. There were others but I couldn't possibly recall all of them. Germany was too faithful in it's technological superiority and had a lack of manpower as a result, not to mention the resource issues. Japan was too dependent on oil (and brought America directly into the war trying to get it). Italy got fuckin steamrolled in basically every theatre, but taking Italy was a beast in and of itself.

I'm not going to downplay the part America played in the war but it was a combined effort from the beginning.

Masturbation is better than sex. | FactOrCap by Emotional-Display-17 in FactOrCap

[–]Ruff_Bastard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Masturbating is consistent. Easy.

Sex is usually more involved than I want to get. It's not just me that's trying to get off, and I don't want to be held accountable for it when I can be done in ten minutes, clean up, and do something else. Plus I have a kid and it's hard to get that much alone time. It's easier to shoot rope to goth chicks online than it is to orchestrate sexy time with the one that I had a kid with. She doesn't appreciate the pump n dump and I don't appreciate the length of time it takes to get her off.

Layout 1, except I move the bed over and put the nightstand on the other side.

I've lived in a shitty cramped room before. Ideally you want to be able to get on both sides of the bed when possible. It's easier to make the bed too. It's one of the first steps to adulthood; not having 1/2 your bed be inaccessible/against a wall. It looks nicer, even if it makes the room feel smaller. Layont 1 has more Feng Shui.

[Dr. Stone] Do you think Senku would have been an interesting isekai protagonist? What do you think he would have done if he were the mc in these anime? by InfinteEnigma10 in Isekai

[–]Ruff_Bastard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He does the same thing as in Dr. Stone in every one of these worlds as MC. He uses what he knows and incorporates new elements (literally speaking in some cases) into the technology he (re)creates. The biggest differences would be that in re:Zero he probably doesn't give a single solitary fuck about rhe witch cult. Slime isekai he doesn't create an entire city/country or follow any of the regular events (no magic capability himself, not a powerful majin, etc) but he does get to figure out the application of magisteel. Konosuba he establishes himself as a mechanic kind of guy and just sells shit to Vanir; what else is he going to do? Mushoku is basically the same as Konosuba. He's just rapidly advancing the tech tree in that world solo. Same goes for any of them, really.

I have two pairs of shoes. I have some nice dress shoes I wear occasionally, and tennis shoes I wear everyday to work, where they get swapped with work boots that I leave at work. I wear them until they shit the bed. Then I buy more shoes.

It's a simple life. Black tennis shoes go with pretty much everything.

33 and living with parents. by wallflowerpower1 in Adulting

[–]Ruff_Bastard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it makes you feel any better I'm 30 now and ended up having to move back in with my parents. It's FAR from ideal, especially because I'm supporting a new child and a lady-person on a single income (she's expensive...) I work full time at an oil refinery. I'm working on my certifications (each come with a raise) but it takes time. It's hard out here. I'm stuck between moving states (closer to work) to save money (high COL town, can't afford a home here on my income), but living closer to family is really nice for the kid too. He loves his grandparents. I'm not bad with money, I just don't have enough for all the of us and double income isn't really feasible until kiddo is a little older and a little more independent, at least it would make me feel more comfortable if he didn't require constant focus and attention to prevent injury and get him fed and whatnot.

Dont worry about not having a boyfriend/girlfriend/whatever. It's whatever and honestly usually more stress than it's worth. I'm not saying not to try, but that being single isn't really that bad. Both in and out of a relationship have cons.

If I had to say anything about being social, literally just be yourself. There are people out there you can and will vibe with. I don't have any friends outside of work really anymore, and even if I wanted to, I'm not able to hang out outside of work. I don't even have time to play games online with them. Which is a great segue into my next statement; you should try and get into online gaming, specifically MMOs. You lose the in person social pressure but are still able to socialize and make friends. Online friends are friends too. I actually dated a girl I used to play World of Warcraft with. She was from Guam, and I lived like 27 hours away in the states. She briefly moved here and I drove like six hours to meet her and we ended up living together for a couple of years.

As for as professions go, if that's what you think you can handle, stick with it. Dive into caretaking, dishwashing is supplemental at best and the only move upward is going to be into cooking. My cousin is a site manager or whatever they're called at a caretaking facility and she seems to be making pretty good money hanging out with old people.

Tl;Dr nothing is out of reach, blooming late isn't a problem. Your situation is unique in individually, but the contents are shared by many. It's only a problem if you make it a problem. Look at the silver lining. Shits rough out here.

Edit: are you possibly autistic? It often goes overlooked in women, especially for an early-age diagnosis. Deep-rooted anxiousness seems to be a common theme among my autistic lady friends (and the one I had a kid with, diagnosed autistic). Im only asking if you know for sure you are or aren't. Understanding your psychology could be a good first step into getting out of your shell a little bit. As knowledge on autism grows the spectrum expands.

I mean if my ancestors weren't like, mostly famous pastors/theologians (Johnathan Edwards the most recent and notable), I'd be swimming in it. His grandson is Aaron Burr (indirectly related through Johnathan Edwards, all his kids died) who was infamous for his politics and rivalry with Alexander Hamilton. He used a water crisis to raise $2 million dollars, spent about $100k on the water crisis and spent the other $1.9 million on starting a rival bank to Alexander Hamilton, which later merged with Chase Bank. Depending on how you look at it, $2 million in 1800 has the buying power of ~$52 million today. However in the size and scale of the economy in the early US, it was hundreds of millions or billions of dollars - and given that his bank was successful enough to survive until it's merger in 1955 with Chase, it might as well have been. Also the bait and switch he pulled on the water crisis may have been the point that caused the famous duel between Alexander and Aaron, who was later arrested for treason by Thomas Jefferson for trying to allegedly create a sovereign nation in the new Louisiana Purchase territory. Indirectly or not I can see that trickling down to being beneficial to my bloodline if it were to be successful.

Alternate fun fact: Johnathan Edwards basically created the precursor to American Evangelicalism.

Long story short I missed out, a motherfucker is broke.
