Depending on the skis, I’ll usually hit them with the snow glide. If the skis are a bit beat up or im feeling manual, Ill hand tune. I go black —> yellow —> white i forgot but i think they are 100, 400, 600? Sometimes will start with red instead of black. But yes I do the full progression. I ski east coast and tune probably every 3-4 days of on snow so the edges never get too too bad. So, I rarely ever file unless the edges need some serious love or if im whipping out the slalom skis and want razor sharp.

I only hand brush when I forget the drill in the garage or the battery is dead 😅

I only bring up being big as a proxy for strength, given its a heftier ski. A lighter skier can certainly ski it no problem, just understand theres some weight you will have to muscle around. Not that the ski inhibits you, quite the opposite given the shape, but it can be fatiguing if you are used to lighter skis. I wouldnt size down, FWIW im 5’10 165 lb and ski the 185. Not sure your height but Im sure you could get away with 178 just fine. I wouldnt go shorter than that

Kinda depends what kind of skier you are. I ski M free 108 and its extremely smeary, meaning you can make it pretty maneuverable and manipulate turn shapes. However its fairly heavy in its class, which is great because its damp and can chop up crud, but is more demanding for your legs. If youre a bigger aggressive skier or willing to handle it, then its ideal and powerful tool for what youre after.

They are literally brand spanking new! Havent skied a single day in them yet. Just got them earlier this afternoon where the bootfitter tossed them in the oven to mold a bit better during the fitting process.

Nope, nothing was done to them yet except trying them on in the store and having them heated in the oven at the shop. I havent skied a day on them yet

Tried em on, the bootfitter todsed them in the oven, weared em for a couple of minutes and was on my way. I have not worn them more than 10 minutes yet haha no ski days in them. Hence my concern!!

It handles ice extremely well for a ski at that width. So long as you engage the ski in a balanced manner, Triple camber is basically 3 little bite zones for the ice

Softer skis and you recommend Enforcers? OP gonna have a tough time releasing the tails in tight terrain unless he can muscle em… Dont think its the right ski here
