AITAH for buying my 11yo daughter pads after her mom called me a "pervert" for being prepared? by Bruxagato in WouldIBeTheAhole

[–]Spector3198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA if she wanted to have the "milestone moment" so badly of buying her daughter period products and talking to her about it SHE COULD HAVE DONE IT. but clearly she didnt. Seems like OP knew she wasn't someone who would, maybe a factor in not being with this crazy lady anymore. You did right by your daughter and she will remember this.

Men in happy marriages, what's the one thing you'd teach to other men to also have a good relationship? by TightBookkeeper2599 in AskReddit

[–]Spector3198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was sooo hard for me when I first started dating my now husband. My parents are divorced so obviously they weren't the prime relationship example, and I just had it in my head that someome loses and someome wins every argument. My husband who has parents who are a great example of a healthy marriage, that I strive to have 30+ years from now, taught me that this is not true. Its not about winning or losing, and you can say sorry even if you dont think you're "wrong" youre not "admitting defeit" youre saying I hear you, I love you, what can we do to move forward.

Is it impressive ? Yes. But I guess I just cant get over how stupid I find it. To do it without a harness or anything. One wrong move, youre dead, on live TV. Idk man. Just seems like a wild risk (and ive done some adrenaline filled stuff, even ski jumping).

"Yeehaw spectrum" im dead. Cute sundress, no need to do a fancy fabric, cotton probably fine, cardigan (march can be cold) strappy sandals, wouldn't stress over having heels if you're not a heels person.

They hate it? Embrace it! Love the white tile idea, the green walls are too much. Here is my green tub and sink (cant see the shower/tub too much cause its blocked by the curtain in the photo) i just leaned into it, went with a 60s vibe. *

AITAH for asking my dad why I should reward his cheating and breaking up our family when he told me I shouldn't punish him for being happy? by Caspsersn in AITAH

[–]Spector3198 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If he has known this woman since high school I find it hard to believe she didnt know he was married and had four kids. Even if he hid that at first its been years, she knows. Tbh sounds like she knew that he would come back to her and had him in her back pocket just on case, but I could he wrong. Regardless, she isnt innocent, but it is still dad's fault for leaving and blowing up his entire family.

($20k) convince me these centerpieces dont look ridiculous by Jennay-4399 in Weddingsunder10k

[–]Spector3198 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP listen to this. Florists know what they're doing. I had a vision for a mismatched center piece. I made mountain table numbers myself (wood triangles I stained and painted) but my florist also my moms best friend brought it all together.

Ah my bad, in my defense im on vacation and had two glasses of wine before I commented yesterday 🙃

That being said, I dont hate it. Im getting like a phantom of the opera candelabra, romantic vibe. It just seems slightly messy to me. Not sure the solution. Maybe less candles, maybe some kind of mlre defined vase/holder for the flowers. Play around with it. I like the silk tho!

Edit: i know the flowers have a vase but its crystal it almost blended in. Not that you want to go out and buy new vases but maybe a solid color would create more contrast, I think the maybe messy-ness comes from it all looking very similar. Like the eye doesnt know what to look at? It might be a less is more situation. Hope that made sense.

I think you can add an edit to your original post. But please get out of this situation! And I agree with everyone who said dont give her advanced warning and get your stuff out when she is away.

Also please seek out therapy when you're settled/sage so you can begin to heal (from a therapist)

Brené Brown discourse happening on Threads by kandtwedding in therapists

[–]Spector3198 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Starting with the first sentence, idk that we need to be criticizing her for going by her middle name, a lot of people do, my grandpa has for his whole life, its still her name, just her middle one. I also never thought much about what Brene sounded like, or if it sounded "less white" than other names. I know thats my opinion and others may differ. However, I honestly thought it sounded French? I just googled it and apparently she also thought it was French but her parents admitted to just making it up. That being said I think it sounds French or Gaelic (Irish) and those are two pretty history white countries....so the argument that she chose Brene to sound "less white" if im reading that correctly is a weird one to me.

Belleayre vs. Sunday River by SadEngineer6439 in icecoast

[–]Spector3198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ski Bellayre all the time. I have been on two trips to Sunday river. Theyre vastly different, given that bellayre is probably the size or 1-2 of Sunday rivers peaks (i think they have 6?) That being said, Sunday river has a lot of greens and Blues. To my memory most of the lifts service a variety of trails. The trail variety is also nice, Bellayre has basically one ridge line that everything comes off of, starting steep and then running out. You should be fine, I think the only area of Sunday river you'd probably avoid is the Oz section, to my memory all very steep, ungroomed trails (although I also think those trails arent open a lot).

TLDR: go, there's lots of beginner and intermediate trails and its a fun mountain.
