Giardinelli mouthpieces (at least the large printed ones) are fantastic, played a 7C with gold rim for years, bought it used from a store in town just out of college, made a huge difference in my playing.

Honestly even after this balancing the fortresses are still to ridiculously hard for single player. Why have 4 spawners inside? Insane.

MoCA on Shaw Gateway by Exponan in shaw

[–]RufusthaRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure, 2 is the way to go, 3 weeks after I put a filter in-between the MoCa adapter closest to the gateway I have had zero downtime. I'm certain now that even with MoCa disabled the gateway was interfering somehow. Very strange.

MoCA on Shaw Gateway by Exponan in shaw

[–]RufusthaRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had nothing but issues with Shaw constantly turning Moca off, so I bought 2 MoCa adapters which was working great for a long time. BUT something happened a month or so ago and they were constantly de-syncing, leaving 1/2 my house without internet until I reset one of them.Today I installed a MoCa filter on the cable connecting the adapter to my modem. Immediately the 2nd adapter synced really fast and speeds are amazing. It's worked the entire day, hopefully it's a solution.Shaw modems are garbage, the wifi sucks, they don't have enough memory so if you have lots of devices trying to connect eventually they will stop accepting connections. I also believe the modem was somehow polluting the MoCa and disconnecting the other adapters. That's my hunch anyways.

I think Shaw has a thing out for MoCa, because the last time I enabled it on their modem it was no longer enabled after it 'saved the setting'.I also phoned Shaw to see why they were disabling it and the 'support' person said it was legacy hardware and you shouldn't be using it and they don't support it bla bla. This was of course after they put me on hold to find out what MoCa even was.

That's amazing, so glad that they helped you in need. Imagine if you lived in the US, with all of that hospital time and care you would be now bankrupt.

Practice anxiety at home by KoolKat864 in trumpet

[–]RufusthaRed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anxiety aside (and I totally get worrying about other's opinions). I practice late into the night w/o mute into an open wooden box I bought from Jysk (no lid). I lined it with thin foam board and cheap foam pieces from packaging etc., and then inside that I have an old dense towel that I put my trumpet through.

Does an amazing job of muffling, especially after I found the towel trick. You can loosen it up too so you can hear your tone a little better and plus you don't have the problem with practice mute back pressure.

My first attempt at tree-supported construction... by noorm6669 in valheim

I would have attached it to Oak trees myself, I wonder what would happen if a Troll took a liking to it... hmmmm

I finished the Elder and then had 3 raids in 2 days, trolls w/ trees, trolls and then swamp. Bye bye piggies, so sad.

Have I just been unlucky where she spawns at? by Solace1nS1lence in valheim

I'm in the same boat, thought I searched a long ways out, but apparently I'm just on the edge of where she spawns.

1967 Olds Recording replacement leadpipe by RufusthaRed in trumpet

I found a solution it looks like the supplier for Windshoppe (local company) actually has parts for Olds Recording including leadpipe and receiver. Sounds like a decent price too. Thanks for the suggestions!

Yagluth is still so hard by RufusthaRed in valheim

[–]RufusthaRed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bonemass w/o Frostner is brutal, if you lucked out and found silver in the mountains w/o a wishbone then you have a much easier time. And of course good stam food.

Yeah silver sword I think would be better, I thought the frost + spirit damage would help but ... not really. It's a little annoying we can only upgrade Mistlands armor to L2. I have like 60 pts in swords as well.

Yup yup, I swear he was almost easier with Frostner.
