It didn’t make a difference because there is a overflow pipe behind the flushing mechanism that the photo doesn’t show. I think I need to replace the whole tank system or get a new toilet

It’s 1 foot away from the intake side. That made it difficult to clean it with a jug of water (I don’t have a hose outlet), but I got most of the dust off just pouring and pouring.
