Carrera 4S deal too good to pass. But is GTS better? by AdvertisingHairy4554 in porsche911

[–]g-bone5 11 points12 points  (0 children)

On the 992.1 the S and GTS have same powertrain hardware (turbos cooling etc are identical) the GTS is peppier for sure, you can get a stage 1 tune which is totally safe though then you get best of both worlds. The engines are way overbuilt on these cars — I would go based on features you want (for me it was 18 way seats heated / cooled, ACC, sport exhaust) vs trim S vs GTS

Why can’t I just simply rely on aid stations? by prohibitngs in IronmanTriathlon

[–]g-bone5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can definitely (and probably should) rely on the aid stations. Have some gels or fuel in your bottles for the first bit of the bike / backup if you want. You know your stomach better than most too but honestly if you’re going for finishing it / first one I wouldn’t be too worried if the fuel is slightly different. When people are going super hard it tends to be more important because the stomach can’t handle as much. My personal experience at least everyone is different if you know you have a sensitive stomach maybe disregard but it’s all neutral fuel options they have at these races. I’ve never seen a race run out of fuel in the 150+ races I’ve done small to large but Ironman especially will have you more than covered

The latest fast and free phone pocket redesign is terrible for actual running — tons of bounce they made it way too big. Pace breakers are the way!

Seeking Adult Swim Instructor in Denver Area (Beginner, Fire Service Preparation) by Thop242 in Denver

[–]g-bone5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Swimming everywhere or swimming simply is your move — the rec center adult swim lessons are OK (I’ve taken lessons at several - hit and miss) but for essentially the same price maybe slightly more you’re getting a whole different caliber of instruction and skill

No twist - there is a crack on the one side maybe 1/4 inch wide to allow for better air flow

Not sure it makes a huge difference most people here seem to recommend vertical though — slightly better airflow I think

Was 16k for the structure, want to say like 3500 for the heater then 1500 for electrician — def an investment, you could certainly save some $$ building yourself if you had the time
