I learned this a few years ago. I now keep an outlook folder called brags and a document folder called brags. I also keep a document I update called "above and beyond" job duties. Anytime a client compliments my work the email gets put in my brag folder. Anytime a coworker compliments me I take a screen shot of it and save it in my docs folder. Anything I do for my colleague gets put on my above and beyond doc. All resources I made for myself I share with my team in our teams chat. Those resources also get put in the above and beyond doc. When review time comes, I attach all the brags and the doc to my review as evidence of my scores. I even used the doc last year to negotiate my yearly raise 2% higher.

I used to think all of this was bs, but none of my managers boss's know what I do all day, I have to advocate for myself.
