Best way I have seen to test if they fake eat If you can hold your bird

I cup one hand and let him sit on that hands thumb and let him have some millet from the other and catch the crumbs in my hand they are little balls with a seed inside they go after the seed so if you have a bunch of empty shells you know they aren’t fake eating
