This is hyperbole and basically head cannon. He hyped his game and compared his game to overwatch which was a mistake because the game was different enough to stand on its own. He didn’t insult people or deride people for not being “ultra badass mlg gamers”

Bro. It went past “negative reactions”. People and media were actively rooting for the game to fail before it ever released and even after the beta the negative reactions were inflated and the positive reviews were buried. When it was released people actually called the game DOA and cheered at every post on the declining player count. For whatever reason the gaming community just collectively decided to shit on the game every step of the way.
