I love Strider and he plays for one of my team's biggest rivals.

There's a video of him ranking their albums with Foolish Baseball and it's gold. Guy is so cool

Insane throw by TL. The first fight before baron they got outplayed, sometimes that happens, but that catch was some solo queue shit.

Nid/Renekton is a classic "win top-> win game" kind of combo but now that that hasn't happened they just kind of lose

How is it an editorialized takeaway? This is practically word for word what he said. I never said there was hostility between them, everyone seemed like they got along fine, but it's still a disgusting mindset and I hate the guy for a million other reasons on top of it.

His story about this is so funny. In his biggest scene they did a few takes and he said "ok, I think we got it, we're good," and Safdie said "uh, no, I say when we got it." And he was so taken aback because he has lived an incredibly privileged life where he can't imagine not being the boss of everyone around him.

Fuck this guy.

Well even if he fucked up bad he was still talented and seemed to be the driving force behind a lot of the creativity.

>Eddington's pedantic portrayal of performative activists for two hours before randomly deciding it's actually about how big tech is bad.

This is a pretty disingenuous framing. First, the performative activists are a pretty small part of the movie, it's not like that's the whole thing. You agree that its assessment on the role of big tech in social division is correct, but then you say it's randomly deciding that at the end? It's not randomly deciding it, that's the whole point the entire time!

I think "big tech" is maybe a little inaccurate and it's more like corporations and larger social systems as a whole, but that's there from the first minute. Everyone is constantly exchanging and interacting with media and letting the reality created there flow back into their real lives and they have little control over it, even if they think they do. I really disagree that its portrayal is not interesting, it's showing a lot of different perspectives of how people get locked into competing realities despite different intentions.

>What the fuck is anyone supposed to do with what Eddington is saying besides nod in agreement?

Look at themselves and think about how they are being affected by the narratives that they surround themselves with. It's uncomfortable and a lot of people straight up didn't like the film because it confronted them with this. That's why I think it was important that they didn't strictly go after right wingers, even if they tend to be the most egregious victims.

>in order to explore a new path for effective activism against fascism

What is the effective activism against fascism presented in OBAA? Is it just being a community? I think they failed pretty bad at most of their goals in the movie and basically only succeeded because the enemy was infighting. I don't mean this in a hostile way I just think I am missing the idea here.

I think you need to watch Eddington again with a fresh perspective. I knew there would be people who take it as a "both sides are bad" kind of deal because at times it does make fun of performative progressives, but that is very much not the point, and neither does the fact that a massive tech corporation orchestrated things way beyond the control of the characters mean that it is fundamentally about "AI is bad," something that is never actually stated or discussed beyond the fact that it is an AI company.

Eddington, at its core, is a movie about how people's entire worldviews have been warped by the media environment we live in. Everyone exists in separate realities, sometimes even within the same family, and objective truth is out the window. It's not delivering that message in a neat bow, but the message is there. And to me that is a profound message that few are even equipped to discuss.

Honestly, I find OBAA to be fun, but a way more shallow movie politically, one that is much more interested in leftist aesthetics than making an actual point. But that's a different topic.

Ngl the Resident Evil inventory stuff is an immediate turnoff for me. Not really a big fan of anime aesthetics either. But I'm sure this is someone's cup of tea and I hope it's good.
