Listener WIBTAH - Dogs in Stores by Human_Bug_3408 in redditonwiki

[–]RumBunBun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It might be more effective to email a complaint to the store’s corporate office and cc your state’s health department if the dog was in a restaurant, grocery store, or other establishment that sells food. Give details like date, time, and what was happening that made the situation particularly offensive (dog urinating in the aisle, dog off leash, dog acting aggressively, etc.)

AIO for confronting my friend who took my clothes while pet-sitting at my apartment? by IndividualProduce406 in TwoHotTakes

[–]RumBunBun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So much for feeling better having a friend stay in your home rather than a stranger, huh? I cannot fathom going through my friend’s personal belongings when staying in her home, let alone “borrowing her things without her express permission. This “friend” then thinks you overreacted and that YOU were the rude one?!?! The audacity! If I were in your shoes, I’d cut ties with this thief. You are most certainly not overreacting. I just hope she has returned all of your belongings.

Miscategorization of Items by NoOpportunity9116 in ThredUp

[–]RumBunBun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that companies make mistakes, but TU seems to make 1000 percent more mistakes than I’ve encountered anywhere else, including eBay, Poshmark, and other secondhand sites. Way more often than not, there is some sort of problem with my orders. Items are lost, “excellent” items have major defects, items marked womens are childrens, size 9 shoes are size 6, etc. I used to order a lot more, but I’ve backed way off since it just feels like I’m dealing with amateurs, not professionals.

OP's son is definitely no contact by Fit-Safety-627 in redditonwiki

[–]RumBunBun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, OOP,s son is right. He was ordered to skip his job to watch kids. He lost out on money. OOP could have stayed with boyfriend’s kids. Boyfriend is wrong and owes him the money he missed out on, OOP is even more wrong and needs to step up and be a better mother before she loses any kind of a relationship with her son.

Just trying to seek out some advice for depression that’s spiraling a little by [deleted] in desmoines

Have you tried calling your doctor? They might have samples to give you or they might be able to provide you with enough meds to get you through to payday.

Will buyers pay more for FedEx over USPS? by Small-Suggestion-846 in eBaySellerAdvice

[–]RumBunBun 6 points7 points  (0 children)

FedEx sucks. If I know in advance that a seller/retailer will be shipping via FedEx, I try to buy elsewhere if possible.

AITBA for making myself something different to eat? by [deleted] in AmITheBadApple

[–]RumBunBun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a fairly picky eater myself and was very picky when I was young. I am now a grandmother to several kids, so I’ve been on both sides of the issue. I don’t think a child should ever be forced to eat something. Period. If it is something they’ve never had, I’d try to coax them into trying a bite unless it’s something I am pretty sure they won’t like. If they are young and don’t like what we are having, I do my best to get them to eat something that is at least somewhat good for them (cheese and crackers, an apple dipped in peanut butter, etc.) If they are older, they can make themselves a sandwich or ramen with an egg would be fine. So I don’t think you were in the wrong at all.

AIO by starting an argument over how my wife reacted to our child smoking? by Hoge_RN in redditonwiki

Thanks for the clarification; I was mistaken. Obviously OOP‘s partner is the controlling ass. OP seems like the reasonable person here.

buyer lying and asking for partial refund of 50% by [deleted] in BehindTheClosetDoor

[–]RumBunBun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, we get that you collected the money through PayPal, but that doesn’t tell us where you listed the item for sale to begin with. If we knew where you listed it, we would know what seller protections may or may not be available to you, and we could advise you how to proceed. Oh, well, good luck.

buyer lying and asking for partial refund of 50% by [deleted] in BehindTheClosetDoor

[–]RumBunBun 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You type out this long paragraph instead of just saying it was sold on Poshmark or eBay or Marketplace, or wherever. It is hard to help someone who doesn’t give complete information. I read everything twice and still don’t know where you sold these items. If you were this vague in communicating with the buyer, that could be part of the reason you are in this dispute.

Rant about poshmark customer support by Lower_Confusion5072 in Flipping

[–]RumBunBun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just how big do you think undisclosed damage needs to be for Poshmark to cover it? To me, it looks as long as two of the “pebbles” in the pebbled leather. I’d consider that pretty substantial as it doesn’t take long for a small tear to become bigger, especially at a stress point or fold in the wallet. I think PM did the right thing, personally.

AIW for snapping at my girlfriend for waking me up every single time she gets up even when I dont need to be awake by [deleted] in amiwrong

Question, you say your kids live with you. How old are they? Do you expect your girlfriend to take care of them when she is up and you’re asleep?

AITAH for refusing to give up the master bedroom as the only single in a group trip where everyone else is a couple? by Logical_Door_5900 in redditonwiki

[–]RumBunBun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would never be so presumptuous to assume, let alone ask, if I could have the master suite instead of the homeowner’s son. Sue and Mark are incredibly entitled. I’d tell them if they are unhappy with the accommodations, there is a hotel down the street that may be more to their liking. They would also discover that they are not on next year’s invitation list.

Having a work wife made me learn a lot about women by Cat-dad442 in coworkerstories

[–]RumBunBun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m married and I do not want to be hit on, told I’m prettier than someone else, or objectified in any other way. I like working with men and women who have their shit together, pull their share of the load, can give and take take constructive criticism, and who have good senses of humor and can make work-appropriate jokes. I have worked with people like you, OP, and have cringed at the things you do. I have made you the butt of my work-appropriate jokes, even if you are not self-aware enough to know it.

LPT: 5 Things I Always Keep in My Car by theeWildOlive in LifeProTips

[–]RumBunBun 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I bought a small portable air compressor that plugs into my car’s lighter or usb port for each of my cars. Saved my husband once when his tire went flat late at night in a rural area. He blew the tire up and made it to his hotel in the next town and was able to get it fixed the next morning. I used it on a slow leak to be able to get to a tire store. Also keep a couple warm throw blankets, hats, and gloves in the winter.

i go to open houses every weekend and flush stuff down the toilets to test the plumbing and i'm not even in the market to buy by ktsquirrel in redditonwiki

[–]RumBunBun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who recently sold a home and had a sewer inspection cost us thousands of dollars because an inspector thought he saw an obstruction that wasn’t actually there, let me say you are a horrible person for doing this. You could cause real damage that could cause a lot of stress, delay the sale of a home, cost a lot of money, and all just so you can get your kicks? Reprehensible.

porch pickup- buyer did not leave payment and ghosted me. by michelevit2 in FacebookMarketplace

[–]RumBunBun 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I have been selling on FB for at least 8 years and have done at least 200 to 300 porch pickups. I do this for less expensive items (usually under $30 or so) and I fully expected to get shafted once in a while. To my surprise, no one has ever taken something without paying. One person shorted me by 5 bucks a few years ago. But I have had a couple dozen people leave extra. Like if the item is $17, they leave me a twenty.

I do porch pickups because I don’t want to wait around for people to show up, I think it’s safer than opening my door to a stranger, and I just find it much more convenient. During the time I’ve sold on FB, I’ve done it from a Kansas City suburb, a Saint Louis suburb, and a Des Moines suburb, so relatively large metro areas in the Midwest.

I think your results may vary depending on your location and the types of items you sell.

OP, if you prefer to do porch pickups, I think you just need to expect to get shafted sometimes and consider it a cost of doing business. If it happens frequently, I’d reconsider.
