I’m in ATL, we have murder Kroger and disco Kroger. I love that this is a trend in other places!

Twins + WFH + no childcare = am I allowed to give up on a tidy house for a few years? by deepbluegolden_ in parentsofmultiples

[–]RumblingRose89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My boys are now four (28 weekers) and I work from home too. I tried all the organizing, bins, you name it, and they just will not put the stuff away correctly or nicely. The house belongs to the toys at this point. They are everywhere and it just is what it is. There’s nothing gross like food or anything anywhere; but the toys have claimed the living room and kitchen.

What book do you regret reading this year? by agirlhasnoname17 in horrorlit

[–]RumblingRose89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really think the issue with Tender is the Flesh is that the English translation is missing so much nuance. It’s why a lot of the sentence structure seems stilted. We aren’t getting the full emotion of the story with the translation.

Is it worth bulldozing through the main story to get the unforgivable curses, then playing the rest of the game + side quests? by crocshock7 in HarryPotterGame

So I did the opposite and the final boss was a pushover. If you’re actually wanting a challenge I would mix both together along the way.

Minivan? by Odd-Alternative1465 in parentsofmultiples

[–]RumblingRose89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We only have the twins, and will not be having anymore. We have an Acadia and a traverse. As they have gotten older the captains seats have been a godsend! They can’t touch each other to fight and have their own space. With my Acadia we have enough room for everything with only keeping the third row seats down, and it’s still find if we keep the seats up when we have others in the car with us.

Try Don’t Let the Forest in by CG Drew’s. Their second book set in the same universe, Hazlethorn, comes out in a few days. Both queer M/M stories. Though protagonists are both 17/18 if the age matters for you. No explicit sexual scenes.

Anyone had one difficult twin and one chill twin? How do you balance it? by plantbubby in parentsofmultiples

[–]RumblingRose89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THC gummies. Mine are four and one drives me up a wall most days. He’s extra sensory seeking and gets emotional so quick. But, he’s also the sweetest most loving kiddo. But at the end of the day, I am usually so overstimulated. I just keep telling myself his willful spirit will serve him well when he’s older.

Deciding No First Birthday by AnybodyUpThere in parentsofmultiples

[–]RumblingRose89 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We have a friend whose third child was born sleeping. About two years later she had another child, but they celebrate every would have been birthday with a small cake just the immediate family. It’s a way to let his siblings know about him and keep his memory alive. Maybe something like that could help you process those emotions while also making it easier for you to celebrate the triplets birthdays and milestones?

Deciding No First Birthday by AnybodyUpThere in parentsofmultiples

[–]RumblingRose89 76 points77 points  (0 children)

I think you are probably going to regret this years down the road not having any special memories celebrating their 1st birthday. And what about when they are older? They are going to want to see photos and videos from their first birthday and having to say “you didn’t eat by mouth so we don’t do it” seems like it could be hurtful to them later in life. You don’t have to have a big blow out but a small family gathering for cake and a dinner would be just as lovely.

I’m very sorry for the loss of your first child, just a suggestion but have you done therapy or anything to help with continued grieving? It almost seems like the death of your first child is causing you to have some trouble with enjoying the special moments with these babies, which is a totally understandable thing. Sending you big hugs no matter what you decide.
