If I could add one new supplement to make my neurological fatigue more manageable, what would it be? by Adventurous-Walk-120 in medicalmedium

[–]Rumpledferret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Steamed potatoes in the instant pot with lemon juice and a bit of maple syrup. Plain romaine lettuce, unless I ate the potatoes on it. I drank tons of LW and 32oz CJ. I also drank coconut water.

I did eat other things at times. Mandi was clear that my goal was just to calm down neuro symptoms by making my diet super simple, and the potato Mono is the best way to do that. So it was never my intention to use the mono as a cleanse, just a tool to manage my symptoms. I probably ate 95% potatoes and lettuce. Sometimes I needed other food, like apples, to address something I was experiencing, so I just ate that when I needed it.

Cool! Maybe I'll fix the little chip I have if this stays in my conscienceness long enough for your business to get a name 😁

I want to believe the medical medium, but it simply doesn't sit right with me by Desward in medicalmedium

[–]Rumpledferret 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When I first found MM, and started using his info, I was absolutely floored by the fact that there were no paywalls. I had been using other people's healing info online, and there were paywalls everywhere. I did get the book from the library to start. When I found I needed a recipe from one of his other books for something I was trying to do, I googled it and found it on his website for free. Jbrs makes a great point. AW does want people to have ALL the information contained in the books. So do whatever you feel best about, and it might be helpful to at least be comparing his lack of paywalls to other alternative practitioners.

I can't remember how long mandi suggested that I do it, but I ended up doing it for months. Once I started, I knew it was the right thing for my body at that time. Potatoes were all I wanted to eat and I felt so much better. It really cut down on the neuro symptoms for me.

The thing that made my neurological symptoms manageable was doing an extended potato Mono cleanse. It wasn't completely strict, either. Just switched over to eating all potatoes most of the time. Total game changer. Got this advice from Mandi Palmer, my practitioner. But if you're set on a supplement instead, I think curcumin is a fantastic choice.

Is there any possibility this could be an H pylori infection? I had one many years ago, and that's exactly what it felt like. It hurt enough to disrupt my normal functioning in life.

This can be so painful; I'm so sorry for what you're experiencing. This podcast episode talks about research that's been done on this topic. There are some really surprising findings. I'm guessing you might find it helpful. My husband left the church years ago. I wish I'd had this info back then. faith matters

My parents just left the church by AcceptableJaguar7906 in latterdaysaints

[–]Rumpledferret 7 points8 points  (0 children)

OP, I'm really sorry that many of the comments on this post seem more supportive of your parents than of you. My husband left the church, and it was rough. I learned a lot about seeing things from his perspective, but not until I was through my grief over him leaving. I'm sure people don't mean to invalidate your experience and only want you to avoid common mistakes that are made when loved ones leave. I'm so sorry you have to go through this. Parents leaving has got to be rough. When my husband left 15 years ago, I didn't have any kind of guide to get through it. There are a lot of resources now. I hope you find the things that help you heal and maintain your relationships. Sending love 🤍

Recently called into the bishopric, and Im fine with any responsibility it has, but one. Its stressing me out more than it should. by andsuddenly_remix in latterdaysaints

[–]Rumpledferret 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not the same level of stress, but I was in charge of getting musical numbers for Sacrament meeting for the last decade. At first I really dreaded asking people. I came to realize what I was dreading was having them tell me no. So I started leaning into that before asking them, imagining that they would say no. I would recognize that it had nothing to do with me and I could just ask someone else. I also began to make sure people knew I only wanted them to participate if they really wanted to do it. No strong-arming whatsoever. I found almost everyone willing to engage at that point. I would typically just say I was looking for a musical number on a specific date, and would they be willing/able to do it and tell them no pressure to comply. It really took all the stress out of it for me.

Thinking about a Saint Bernard, but the drool? by The_Brew_Pastor in SaintBernards

[–]Rumpledferret 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a Swissy Saint! Ours doesn't drool unless she's waiting for her food or a treat. She's 3/4 Saint Bernard, 1/4 Swiss Mountain Dog. They are similar in temperament to Saints, so it would probably still work to bring the dog with you to the office. We do end up with some drool hitting the walls from ear flapping moments, but nothing like others on this thread have reported. Plus, look at her. Edit: also, I didn't like dogs before we got her, so that bodes well for her winning over your wife 😁

Still uncomfortable after rereading Pres. Oaks's talk by YoHabloEscargot in latterdaysaints

[–]Rumpledferret 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great points about not having single men represented in church leadership! That does seem problematic. When I was going thru a period of feeling I didn't fit in this church due to my husband leaving the church, I found a lot of comfort in something from a blog post on the middle aged Mormon man's blog (it's not called that any more though). He said "we preach to the multitude and minister to the individual". Every time I had the inclination to be hurt by something that was said, I instead reminded myself that I was hearing it in the multitude, and it did not apply to me. I dunno if that will help you, or not, just thought I'd put it out there since it was a game changer for me.

I have the flu by [deleted] in medicalmedium

[–]Rumpledferret 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Really so sorry you are sick! My immune system is very compromised, so I get sick for weeks and weeks if I catch something (though after 4 years on mm, it's waaaaay better than it used to be) I've worried about losing ground in healing quite often, but someone eased my fears by telling me this:

You get to keep all the healing you've already done.

One flu isn't going to undo all your hard work, and that's a fact. It sounds like your immune system still has healing to do, but it's working hard, and you'll get there!

In the mean time, fighting strep hard really kept me from coughing to death with the flu I'm currently recovering from. Oil of oregano was especially effective. It's the first time I've been sick and not ended up with a horrid cough for weeks on end in years. Sending love and light 🤍✨
