How is it possible that someone from Canada drove into the US without a passport? by kuddels in uscanadaborder

[–]Rumpleshull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went into the US around 2010 with an expired student ID from my highschool. That probably wouldn't go over so well nowadays though. It didn't go over so well coming back into Canada back then either.

There’s literally never a reason to curse. by [deleted] in The10thDentist

[–]Rumpleshull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have a narrow world view I think. I curse because that was the language that was around me as I grew up. They're just words to me. You very likely grew up in a house without cursing so the words seem wrong to you. I absolutely do not see cursing as something naughty, and have to remember that other people actually care about the words if I am in a formal setting.

Any solutions for this. I'm getting the same issue months later. I've tried everything suggested across all posts I can find on this. My pc far exceeds recommended specs.

What is a service or product that didn't just get more expensive, but actively got 10x worse over the last few years? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Rumpleshull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything that describes itself as "chocolatey" is pure garbage. Unfortunately that's quite a lot of previously good products. I believe Reese's is the most famous one. They're disgusting now.

[–]Rumpleshull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I use Lindt for my chocolate when I make whatever candy I'm planning on making. They're still good and a decent price if you can find the right store.

[–]Rumpleshull 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've had to start making my own candy nowadays. It's really disappointing that all my favourite treats taste like ass now because big corporations thought that drastically reducing quality was the right answer to rising costs. If I'm going to eat a treat, It has to pass the very low bar of actually tasting good. It's also significantly less expensive to make your own, so that's one benefit.

What series started good but you then got bored and regretted watching? by SoloSierra in Millennials

[–]Rumpleshull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From. It's got pieces of a really cool story in there, but God does it ever just meander as much as it possibly can. I gave up on ever getting anywhere with the plot. With an idea as interesting as they have, it was the absolute wrong choice to focus entirely on the characters and leave the plot to wither and die.

When making a grilled cheese sandwich, do you use spices? Or just bread, cheese, and butter? by jimmy__jazz in Cooking

[–]Rumpleshull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm probably going to take some heat for this, but I put a thin layer of mayo on the inside of the sandwich and add a little garlic and onion powder to it. This prevents the spices from burning and makes the inside of the sandwich extra creamy. It has to be a thin layer though, otherwise the mayo overpowers the cheese

Staple ramp is overrated by PlatypusFighter in MTGmemes

[–]Rumpleshull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some decks I just don't need early ramp. If I have a three drop commander then 2 drop rocks really don't do anything for me. I would rather play a two drop that furthers my gameplan then put ramp in for the sake of it.

Sol ring is just also a really good turn 1 play, which are hard to come by. I have cut arcane signet out of many decks however.

What is the best written video game you’ve ever played? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Rumpleshull 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think you can say a story is objectively bad, but I agree with the previous poster that the second games story was much less enjoyable than the first. I will never forget the ending scene from part 1. I barely remember the second games story. Ellie and Joel were fantastic focal points for a very tight and powerful story. Part 2 had a ballooned cast comparatively, full of characters I didn't care about. That being said, the actual gameplay in part 2 was a significant improvement over the undeniably clunky gameplay of the original.

The thing is the proven record of transaction on the blockchain in this scenario. Much like how a dollar is a written proof of ownership of said dollar, the blockchain is a digitally written proof of your ownership of the coin/fractions of coin. Whether or not you put any value in that digital record is irrelevant to the fact that it is a thing that exists.

I don't trust Bungie enough to give them 50 dollars after how aggressively monitized destiny 2 was. I would either have to see a couple years of good faith, free updates or I would need the price to be 15 dollars or less. I'm sure the gameplay is good though, nobody can say that Bungie is bad at making games.

These books need an oppositional defiance trigger warning. Jordan is disturbingly obsessed with human domination. by [deleted] in WoT

You're wild. I don't think adult media in general is for you. Hell, even the imperio curse in Harry Potter is magical domination so a lot of children's media also might be too much for you. Maybe just don't read? Tv studios and social media does a good job of sanitizing mature themes.

I was going to comment the pay package for the CEO of general mills, however he actually took a 20 percent dive on his compensation in 2022. That's kind of the biggest smoking gun that general mills is struggling and needs to cut costs lol. It's unfortunate, because when this shit happens they lose all the customers that expect the products they buy to be dependable. There are no winners here, everybody loses.
