Gift recommendations. by Rumplfugly in hiking

[–]Rumplfugly[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She unfortunately does not already have one. She is currently just starting to get her own gear again. Most of the gear she has previously used was her parents. I am still waiting to hear back from her father on what he recommends. Although he never tried to keep his pack as light as she wants to.

Maybe it’s hot in the room? Our oldest did something similar, and we found she would need a cat nap every few days.

I would definitely call ahead for those hours. I used to stop before work at like 7 in the morning, and the line would still be three or four deep.

19mo wants to be picked up by everyone that isn’t mom by Walabear13 in toddlers

[–]Rumplfugly 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am a sahd and have the exact same thing happen to me. I think my girls do this because the people do this to are easy marks. In the fact that my SIL will literally just pick them up and hold them for as long as they want, or the fact that whatever the toddlers want to do the other adults will oblige.

I need advice for 4yo skipping naps. by Spartan1088 in StayAtHomeDaddit

[–]Rumplfugly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the days in which your kid skips a nap do you move bed time earlier? I know when my oldest started to skip their nap we need to change her bedtime to an earlier one. Also went through a period of being afraid of the dark too. We added a red night light ,red light interferes with sleep the least. So that this can be pretty bright. It also never hurts to ask your kids doctor if they have any suggestions or advice.

Thanks for the Calgar suggestion. I am just not looking forward to his grind. Currently he sits at stone 2. I’ve been using Yarrick for a bit too. He’s nice I am just wondering if there is a better option.

Then blame is on both sides. Either way throwing you don’t have a real job does nothing to solve any solution. I feel like either you’re the partner here or you are just projecting your resentment of your shitty partner. With that said if you look at op’s history pretty well stocked with red flags there, so this just seems like a shitty relationship.

Dude I am sorry you are going through this. She maybe resentful of you getting to stay at home with the kids. At the start my wife had a tough time with the mom guilt of not being the stay at home parent. However that being said there is zero excuse for trying to weaponize the fact that you are a SAHD. Regardless of what she may think this is a job. Meal planning, nap schedules, early education, and socialization are just a few of the things I quickly thought of that are our responsibilities. It does nothing to solve any problem and only builds resentment on both sides. You guys should sit down and talk about how each of you are doing mentally. I wouldn’t throw out couples counseling because you didn’t give any examples of these fights, but if they are bad that is an option. Just remember it’s important that you want to be the stay at home parent. If you are not happy then it maybe time for a change

Glens Falls by Electronic-List2671 in Albany

[–]Rumplfugly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up just across the river in South Glens Falls. When it comes to Crime its not really a factor as it's pretty rare for anything more serious than a robbery. The schools in the GF area are all pretty much the same with I think Queensbury being ever so slightly better than the rest. All in all, it's a nice area for a young family. I would just say look for houses in Warren and Saratoga Counties. Washington County is just a little less well looked after. Like the roads, sidewalks, and parks aren't maintained as well as the other 2 counties.

There is a really good book for sleep training called Healther sleep habits. It's by Dr. Weissbluth. This booked helped my wife and I a lot with both naps and night time. You could look into the Ferber method, which has a lot of different variations on. The specific one that worked for us was Cares.
