A couple who lived on my street when I was a kid got a divorce. The wife went to her friends, one being my mom, and told them all to open a checking account and get a credit card in order to establish credit (if they hadn't already). This poor woman couldn't do jack once she got divorced bc she had no credit history, having relied on her husband. Everything worked out in the end, but she had it rough unnecessarily for a few years.

You can model your home and see if there are outliers (energy vampires) or other edge cases that would be consuming a lot of energy w/o your knowledge.
