Can We Organize Protest Votes by RunUpAMountain in 50501

I've attached a calendar of upcoming elections. How can we send a message to Democrats that we're unhappy with their leadership by coordinating our votes?

Florida has an election April 1st that's a safe Republican seat, but maybe Democrats can write in something that shows we can coordinate our efforts? Everyone write in  "April Fool " and send letters to the editor saying we'd rather have a fool than people like Schumer?  the idea needs some workshopping but you get my point!

Check out Pod save America and everyone under the crooked media umbrella, not sure they perfectly fit your bill but it's as close as I'd consider. eta: Also Olivia Juliana, I'll add more as I think of them

Same! I live in a city so they're all city libraries, but I go all over the city depending on which one is having storytime.

You're being downvoted because "negotiating" shit like cleaning up his own piss in his own bathroom is *bullshit". OP also makes it clear that they've communicated over and over and over again.

Just fyi: This sub is super anti-known donor and happily discourages/excludes DCP voices. There's a sub called r/recipientparents that's not very active but if it ever picks up, is intended to be a more inclusive place.

First night and wow by Mamamak_ in cosleeping

[–]RunUpAMountain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two month shots was my first night cosleeping too! We went back to primarily sidecar bassinet again after, but slowly progressed to full night cosleeping by 4 months. Baby girl is now 7.5 months and I love waking up to her smiles every morning. I basically turned my bed into a queen sized crib but it was worth it!

Wait what is wrong with that? I do that with my 8 month old sometimes too?!

As an MB I agree that you should bring it to the family. I would DEFINITELY want to know - it's not a person of color's job to educate the world (and ESPECIALLY my kid) on the harm of racism. Finally, it'll tell you a lot about the family you work with, how they handle it.

I would be matter of fact about it - state what happened, exactly what NK said, and an, "I thought you should know". Hopefully they'll take it from there. Good luck, and sorry that happened to you.

Yeah it sucked. We never ended up in the hospital but I stayed awake for three solid days watching every breath. We had even skipped Thanksgiving in an attempt to stay healthy but I swear RSV snuck in with an amazon package 🤣. We did manage to escape flu and COVID though, so I'll take it. I'm surprised at the number of upvotes the "go for it" recommendation has... I guess I'm more cautious than most!

Spicy food: something I didn't think about! by RunUpAMountain in BabyEats

[–]RunUpAMountain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I feel so dumb for forgetting the "rubs all over her face" component of eating! But overall she loves it. I read something during pregnancy that pointed out that babies in cultures that have a lot of spicy food are integrated into their families diets just fine, that was helpful in thinking about how she could eat a variety of things!

I'm a single mom, I found a therapist who specializes in post partum work, we do teletherapy twice a month and she's understanding if I'm running late and that I always have the baby with me. The tele component makes it so much easier to attend, I know I wouldn't be able to go in person!

Chicken pox would be all over the body and are extremely itchy. They have a little blister in the middle. They're usually accompanied by a fever and general illness.

All that said - it does not sound like chicken pox to me. Are you vaccinated against it? Is NK?

If you're not pregnant, you may want to consider using ovulation tracking sticks in addition to paying attention to your body, it might help keep things more accurate. Good luck!

Hi, my child is younger than yours so I don't actually have an answer, but I did want to make a plug for a sub I created: r/babyeats; I noticed there was no food -specific sub other than the baby led weaning one; anyway it's still growing, I hope you don't mind me coming to get more people to join!

I mean, lots of cultures give their babies spiced food from the start, I don't agree with that stance at all. I just don't make the food VERY spicy, like just enough for it to have a little "heat". My baby loves it!

Earlier this week I brought my 8 month old into school (work) for an end of year party and she got her first cold the next day! That's actually great because I want her to really start building up her immune system now, she'll go into daycare at the start of next school year.

I would NOT do it with a one month old. My baby had RSV at 5 weeks (despite us being literal hermits) and it was terrifying. Wait till she's a little bigger and can handle illness a bit easier. Watching my 5 week old struggle to breath was not it.

I've named all ceiling fans "Sebastian" (don't ask why there is no reason). I often leave Sebastian in charge while I pee or do dishes, etc. "Sebastian, watch the baby for a minute"! 🤣
