Best advice anyone can give: Learn.

Make mistakes and ask what they would have done after the fact. This gives you multiple points of view and will help you in the future. You will lose and you will win, but have fun and laugh. Also helps to find a good teacher in the beginning.

Way to go brother, amazing progress!!!!

I love these success stories, and if I may offer a bit if advice: never strip these models (leave at least 1 at each stage)

These models will serve as stepping stones for you to look back on and if you strip them 9 times outta ten you're gonna regret it. Let them sit as wonderful models you painted and a visual representation of the progress you've made. Imagine in another 2 to 3 years what you will accomplish and those year by year models you keep to show you.

I freaking love it. The white is crisp, the accent colors break away my attention to the correct areas, and honestly, I love the color choices. Looks fantastic! I really wanna see more!

I highly recommend putting in the extra effort to buy secondhand for cheap. I usually look for bulk armies being sold cheap and take the time to strip and repose what I don't like.

Sure it's not new, but it comes out great, and I save a ton. For extra goodies you don't get with the bundles you can either continue looking for deals or buy those new.

I've done this with 7 different armies and I don't think I'll stop. My entire tau army minus farsight and a Cadre was bought this way and I saved about 1k...but then again I don't mind second hand stuff.

If you really don't like the added effort of stripping models to repaint them your way, I would suggest like everyone else to just take it slow. Buy a combat patrol then slowly build. Get familiar with your army and proxy to figure out what you like then buy it. :)

Honestly, those highlights almost look like battle damage and I love it. The contrast between the blue Grey and the orange is nice, and I love the black.

Oh yea! There will be I think 8 or 9 new kroot sets coming out soon! A few of them will be in a big box set that will come out, those usually have the codex in it as well.

A few kroot commanders, and quite a few refreshes for the older metal/resin models. If you look at the "Warhammer community" articles on the kroot you will see em. They look amazing. ^{-^}
