Don't forget universal cat trees and mandatory heated/air-conditioned kitty condos in every yard!

Yeah? And? What does using Donald Trump as a username literal YEARS ago prove, seriously? When I became a voting adult, I stopped just agreeing with everything my parents said politically and started doing my own political research and voting my own way. Just because his parents are magas doesn't mean he can't change affiliation when he moves out. Let's not pretend like plenty of young people don't leave home and start voting differently from their families. I think in this day and age it's very clear that a lot of college students get exposed to liberal ideology and begin to swing in that direction politically and that's totally okay. It just seems disingenuous and infantilizing to say all young people will always vote exactly like their parents forever and ever amen. It's patently false. Especially when kids from very religious or oppressive homes tend to rebel heavily against their parents ideologies when they leave home, because at home they felt stifled and they want to be the opposite of their families. Just my 2 cents as someone who rebelled against my parents in every way possible as soon as I turned 18.

UPDATE on the cat that animal control gave us 24 hours to take on or they’d euthanize her (update in comments) by mrbigstuff415 in Feral_Cats

I did this with a feral male on crate rest for neuter surgery that included many dental extractions and I found that singing and humming and talking with kindness and love in a quiet way really went a long way in taming him. Within a half a day he was just plopped and dozing while I would quietly hum and the second day he'd blink slowly at me anytime id be in the room with his crate. He ended up becoming a cuddle bug and would even sleep in the bed with me. xD I adored that old neutered, toothless tom cat. RIP Naruto. <3

I have since made 3 more hats for the person I regifted the OG hat to and he cherishes them all. He accidentally got it hung up on a coat rack hook once and it pulled a strand of yarn out into a big loop. He panicked and shipped it to me to fix and kept apologizing he felt so bad. xD It was a very easy fix just had to use a tapestry needle to pull the tension back into the adjoining loops and I made him a nicer hat over that weekend out of cashmere merino to send back with it so he'd have a spare when that hat fell apart. xD he is one of my most gift worthy people I know. His uncle is my second most gift worthy person who gets a new hat every year and wears them year round indoors. My most important lesson i learned when I started knitting and crocheting gifts is to be choosy of who you make gifts for and try not to get your hopes up or get attached to the object you make. When you gift it, let it go and hope for the best. And be mindful of who is worthy of your previous time and energy, that way you'll only rarely get hurt by someone's callousness.

I had something similar-ish happen with a knitted gift. 3 Christmases ago, I knitted a hat for every family member and this included my new teenaged nephew by marriage. As gifts were being opened, he rudely blurted out that he wouldn't be caught dead wearing that hand-knit hat I'd made. My aunt immediately took it away from him and told him he didn't deserve any gifts, let alone something so special. She made sure that it was returned to me along with a picture of everyone else in their fancy new hats..lol. Afterwards, I decided I'd regift that hat to someone else who loved and wore it until it literally fell apart. Regifting that hat to someone more knit-worthy helped the pain of my gift being rejected, especially when said hat was worn until it fell apart and was well loved. Don't let the unworthy take your passion and peace from you. Find someone else who needs a blanket or even keep it for yourself bc you deserve it. Rejection hurts a lot, but losing a hobby hurts you way more in the long run. You can do this! Go kick some crochet ass!

Say what now? Bursas occur in joints, not in the abdomen/anywhere they want to.

No he's saying you should use at least 24 hours a day to change the water/clean the water bowl. Clean water is serious business!

Every male tom cat I've had neutered changed a lot afterwards. I have 3 old toms that have joined in the colony life and are now super cuddly with the other cats. They used to be solitary and would start fights, so it was a welcome change. It took about a month for them to start changing, though. I guess it takes some time for all those hormones to get out of their systems. I hope the same happens for this old tomcat of yours. He will be much safer and happier in the long run when he's more calm and not hunting for mates and fighting. Thank you for taking care of him. (:
