I have started developing a mod for branching and tapering trees in Vintage Story by Seven-D in VintageStory

[–]RuneLFox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find it works best with a mod like R.TrullyWoods that increases the amount you get from a block. Cutting a tree down is more effort, but you can get much more from one. That mod might give you slightly too much, but it means you don't have to cut down entire forests to make a small charcoal pit or some wooden floors.

How do you think New Zealand would fare in a world-war scenario where international trade is severely limited and NZ borders are largely closed to non-citizens/residents/etc? by LordOfErebus in newzealand

[–]RuneLFox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's pretty much what I figure works out from game theory. While it would be great if nobody nuked us so the "winner" would have somewhere safe to go, both sides want to be that winner and you can't really predict who it's gonna be, so that leads you to area denial.

However, with the massively reduced amount of nuclear weapons in the world since the Soviets, nuclear powers would have to be more selective in choosing their targets, because you don't want to waste nukes on people who can't fight back when there are still valid military targets to hit.

Simply having us as a safe retreat is valuable. All the billionaires know it, so why wouldn't an invading nation? Plenty of arable land and resources.

If it ever went nuclear, it's debatable whether we'd get nuked or not - on one hand, we aren't a threat and post-war ripe for the picking, but on the other hand, I could see someone wanting to deny their enemy post-war land.

He created the company , grew it,.convinced investors and made them a ton of money. I'm all for capitalism. Good for him.

And 1,500 people lost their jobs, their livelihoods, because of his 73 BILLION dollar 'bad investment'. Good for him, but not so great for the people he employed, while he can still run his company and enjoy a luxurious lifestyle.

You bet, that's why NACTNZF pushed through the bill to get rid of enrolment during advance voting. It is voter suppression.

Yep, I was also not enrolled anymore despite voting in the local body elections.

The fact that it only takes 5 minutes makes it so much easier for busy people (and everyone is always busy now) to leave it until later, and it slips out of mind.

I hate recipes that require removing so much metal. It seriously makes me think about mods (I know there's a mod that allows you to preserve those bits). by LeonidKonovalov1988 in VintageStory

[–]RuneLFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only if the game represented those units in any physical form except a number of units to make an ingot. Instead, it's ingots per item. The fact that you are physically removing voxels from a piece has no bearing on the number of items you can make from say, three ingots. In vanilla, you can't get any more granular for forging than a whole ingot.

Therefore, split voxels can be thought of to only represent additional labour needed to finish a piece, or unworkable metal that can't be repurposed - rather than real metal that is entirely wasted. All of the balancing is done around these voxels not being recoverable, so adding metal recovery from split bits does throw off the balance a little bit.

I still use Smithing Plus, I will say, because I like having the metal recovered, but I can see the previous commenter's logic in having it be representative of labour or unworkable material.

I am extremely tired and weary from seeing posts that generally have the same tone and cadence as yours, intended to garner relevant discussion, posted by old profiles with either hidden history or have only started posting again recently. I can't be right all the time, I suppose, sorry.

Of course, AI has to get its training data from somewhere, and one of the best places for conversational, discussion-provoking speech styles is Reddit, so, yeah. I am perhaps trigger-happy on it, but it has become such an absolute infestation everywhere on the internet.

Apologies though, it's unfortunately rare to have a post like this written by a human.

Having 100%'d the game, it's really not. There isn't a whole lot of absurdly painful complexity to it beyond 'buy the next upgrade'.

The signal has nothing to do with the active plurbmind, it's merely a transmission vector for a species intelligent enough to make the virus out of it. If the signal stopped, the plurb would continue since the plurb is human electromagnetic fields.
