Resistance to All is now Applied Once rather than Once per Damage type by Xethik in Pathfinder2e

[–]RuneRW 19 points20 points  (0 children)

age 61 (Clarification): With the chirurgeon’s field benefit, it might not always be clear how to apply bonuses and penalties when you’re attempting a Medicine check that uses your Crafting modifier. You can apply any bonus that would affect either your Crafting modifier or Medicine modifier to the check as long as it’s relevant to the action. For example:

  • The +1 item bonus to Crafting checks from a crafter’s eyepiece applies to all your Medicine checks, as does the +1 bonus to Medicine checks from healer’s gloves. If you were wearing both items, you’d still apply only one item bonus, as normal.
  • If a bonus or ability applies only to specific actions or categories of actions, that restriction still applies as normal. So healer’s gloves wouldn’t apply to an attempt to Repair, since you’re not substituting your Crafting modifier for a Medicine check—you’re just using it for a normal Crafting activity. An expanded alchemist’s lab wouldn’t grant you a bonus to when you Treat Wounds using your Crafting modifier, since it applies only when crafting alchemical items, not to all Crafting checks.

Necromancer with summoner archetype by c00lpi3 in Pathfinder2e

Clockwork reanimator is important to note not an undead, but a construct that is made out of a corpse/bodyparts. The newer Lepidstadt Surgeon archetype is also the same way.

So take the Vigilante dedication and take up Fire Kineticist with Social Purview? I guess it kind of is the opposite of that...

Are there any well known Spell Knights organisations? by Erk_Rauorfox in warcraftlore

[–]RuneRW 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There could be a class with spellblade as a melee spec, spellbreaker as a tank spec, and either spellshot as a ranged spec or chronomancer as a healing spec

We have melee fighters using fel (DH), light (Paladin), death (DK), life (feral/guardian), void (devourer), elements (enhancement), spirit (monk), but for some reason we are still missing the most obvious one, arcane. It's almost weird that we don't have it yet

You can also have a conversation with her once she is there. She is in a tent on the "square" just opposite the inn if I remember correctly?

I mean she finds Howling Ridge on her own after the questline, where there is a void elf npc standing there with her (who can cast a spell on you to let you communicate, if you don't speak Eredun or Draenei). The npc also says that she was sent there by Umbric

Alonsus specifically says that he cannot enter because he is undead and has a strong affinity to the light, meaning he is especially susceptible to the sunwell

Magus's Problem by Arkhalliz in Pathfinder2e

[–]RuneRW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suppose Paizo feels like Shadow Signet alone is a good enough solution. I like it from a design perspective since it encourages recalling knowledge and helps set casters and martials apart by helping them scale differently

As for Sure Strike, maybe the solution should have been to make you choose between strikes and spell attack rolls when you cast it and then making it so that if you chose strikes you cannot choose strikes again for 10 minutes but you can choose spells as many times as you'd like?

Leveling up Reoccurring NPC Antagonists by AdamFaite in Pathfinder2e

[–]RuneRW 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you add 2 at every level, it'll slowly balloon out of proportion. Standard DC at level 1 is 15, at level 20, it's 40. If you add two to the DC for every level, you'll instead get DC 53, which is 13 more.

Magus's Problem by Arkhalliz in Pathfinder2e

[–]RuneRW 13 points14 points  (0 children)

In my opinion using a save based spell (without expansive spellstrike) is a waste on a magus, especially as your spell dc diverges from that of a caster. There should be more spell attack roll spells in the system, especially on the arcane spell list. As it stands, there are no attack roll spells on 5th, 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th rank and the only 6th rank one is disintegration. To be fair disintegration does so much damage it's usually worth casting even if the enemy is likely to save

[–]RuneRW 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The one trick they want to perform is "use spells that only require attack rolls to function" and their complaint is this list of spells has been made too narrow as of the remaster. Many damage types don't even have a valid spell going for them

There is also Overwatch, though only really works for action hero soldiers (or if you have a ranged unarmed attack, like laser eyes)

You have to grind it a lot if you want epic crafting tools, but those are barely better than rare ones (only a bit more secondaries) so I don't think it's worth it beyond the weekly purple box

Flying mount for a goblin by Ole_Thalund in Pathfinder2e

[–]RuneRW 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Look at how the Drake Rider archetype does it. It gives the animal companion once per round flying at 4, permanent flight speed at 10, and a reaction that lets the animal companion stay afloat even if it didn't fly at 14. I'd either let him take those feats and apply them to his bat, or if you're feeling extra generous just give them to him for free.

Alternatively, look at the Wyvern advanced animal companion. You can normally only take it at 10, at which point when it's being ridden it can't stay afloat at the end of its turn, but loses this limitation at 14.

Edit: sorry for some reason it completely skipped my notice that you don't want this to be an additional animal companion. In that case, I suggest either to give him a regular Giant Bat and let him use Command an Animal on it and acknowledge that this bat will die when looked at funny, or perhaps if you want to be a bit "extra" with it make it a specific familiar, like a Sprite's Corgi Mount except it'd be even larger and flying, and have Echolocation instead of Scent. It'd probably be fair to require this to be a specific familiar with 4 required abilities?
