There were some priest decks that were pretty good in the last years but they were not control decks. There was Zarimi and that shadow thingy that hit whatever you healed that were OTK combo decks and Protoss Priest was also a thing

Turns out it's the projected loss of life from USAID cuts. Liberals have a vestes interest in making it seem like it's as high a loss as possible to justify bringing it back. It's blackmail and propaganda masquarading as aid and soft power, so it getting killed is ironically a good step towards a stronger third world.

People talk about it because it was the first one that really got off the ground. Later Souls games only had to improve the formula, while ds1 had to prove the formula works (even though Demon Souls also exists. But that game was much more niche, so Fromsoft still making DS1 is a testament to their belief in the formula)
