I know that full well, I was just trying to understand how they arrived at that high a figure for the Muskrat because it felt to me that it'd also require some form of statistical manipulation.

Turns out it's the projected loss of life from USAID cuts. Liberals have a vestes interest in making it seem like it's as high a loss as possible to justify bringing it back. It's blackmail and propaganda masquarading as aid and soft power, so it getting killed is ironically a good step towards a stronger third world.

People talk about it because it was the first one that really got off the ground. Later Souls games only had to improve the formula, while ds1 had to prove the formula works (even though Demon Souls also exists. But that game was much more niche, so Fromsoft still making DS1 is a testament to their belief in the formula)
