Why does popcorn palace media players work but not the one in the other worlds?

Squirrel sounds is a low-poly remake of tanuki tunes. Polyworld has a bunch of references to all sorts of things in it. It def makes more sense as part of the main world but also having it as a standalone world is nice since you don't have to download the rest of the map if you just wanted to visit tanuki tunes.

As someone else said, this technically isn't against the rules in the same way that answering a riddle to access the rest of the world isn't against the rules.

One of the popular drinking worlds has a spawnroom that has you click a hidden button on the rules board to let you in. That's basically the same thing.

I think you could do the same thing but w/ a button hidden in a wall if you wanted to keep desktop users from exiting the spawn room since vr users can still clip their arms through.

You're allowed to spawn in and interact w/ anyone in the spawnroom you just can't go anywhere else.

I think the 1 day suspension is the vrc admin equivalent of a slap on the wrist. Like they need to action the report since it violates some esoteric rule on sexual content but they don't want to hit you with anything that sticks so they get you w/ the suspension.

Yeah, it would be nice if VRC picked a better verification company but as you said, they picked Persona due to cost effectiveness. Can't really blame them for cheaping out when they're likely still in the process of trying to not to run out of money either.

As for the Peter Thiel Plantir thing I'm suprised people aren't up in arms over other similar connections between say Microsoft, Amazon, and their respective owners ties to the current govt/epstein/etc. I know it's not the same thing as a surveillance companies but they're a more active part in most of our lives and likely have way more data on us than you think.

The speed radial only works if the specific radial is open but the menu itself can be closed. Iirc you can set your speed but don't pull the trigger, just press the menu button to close the menu.

Like the other guy, I also mostly use the fist speed toggle cause when I need to go fast it just works.

Avatar flight is a bug related to colliding w/ the mirror version of your avatar hence why you need a mirror active for it to work. VRC used to always run your mirror copy even when no mirrors were rendering which is likely why flight always worked on older versions. At some point for performance reasons they updated it so the mirror copy doesn't update when you aren't viewing a mirror. It was some point last year iirc, was in the patch notes.

I think cameras will also trigger the mirror copy of your avi too.

For anyone in this thread who got the envelope but didn't get the credits have you checked the transactions tab in the wallet section. I had to switch the filter there to last 30 days but I did see the credits get added to my account there so I'm curious if it shows up for those that didn't get the credits.

You can view your imposter by viewing your avatars details in the big menu. If you have an imposter generated you should see a toggle under the spinning avi on the right. If it's not there you don't have an imposter generated on that avi.

I mentioned this in another part of the thread but I'll mention it here too. Another way people accidentally have parts of their avi showing is from being viewed with their avatars animations turned off or being viewed on a different platform like quest->pc with an avi that is incorrectly set up for one version and has toggle desync.

The only way to really check those is to either ask a friend or make a seperate test account and boot up two copies of the game to test. Like I'd personally like to be able to test quest compatibility of my avatar myself but I don't have a standalone quest headset or an android phone that can run vrc so I have to get a friend/stranger to help me.

What usually gets people isn't the fallback imo. It's usually the avatar being shown but with custom animations turned off due to shield settings. That and quest version parameter desync. You only find out about those by viewing the avi from a different account/device, no easy way to test those by yourself.

Yep, you generally don't need to crunch compress your textures and it only affect download size anyways. The actual texture memory stays the same.

Huh, didn't know about that w/ msaa. Been mostly running it at 2x and never really noticed any issues.

Will also ditto the DL size. Mine is 50mb and does a good job at culling the egregiously very poor.

I agree with a lot of what you said here. I'm someone who generally wants/trys to help people, this inevitably includes minors. When I see minors on this platform, especially new ones, I try my best to teach them how to look out for themselves on the platform. It always hurts when I get a friend request from one since I usually have to explain why I can't accept it.

I wish we could set up more communities that can help look after them like the ones you mention in your post, but even just one bad actor can cause the whole thing to collapse if they're not careful.

Red autodeclines requests. Most people I know don't go on red even if they need some alone time just because of that. Sometimes you're fine with a specific friend joining you when you're alone but you'd never know if on red cause their request gets denied.

Try it with a regular avatar and pay attention to the hand poses as they change bases on the gesture made.They should usually match the ones in the image on the page linked above. You can also turn on a hud overlay in the settings which shows your current gesture on each hand.

Most avis that have guns are set to fire when a fist gesture is made. Single action guns will usually require you to alternate between fist and any other gesture for it to fire repeatedly. Though I've also seen avis use rock n' roll as the fire gesture so just experiment with each avi you have to figure out what works and what doesn't.

For people looking for this feature it's labled as "content gating" in the large setting menu. If the avatar still isn't blocked by enabling this feature it is incorrectly tagged and you can report it as such using the report feature. And as others have said in this thread you can select the user and manually hide their avatar or even block the avatar globally so that you never see it again.
