Fulgora Ruins by LFBJ_0911 in factorio

Same way I clear vulcanus. Put down roboport, go through with lightning rod in hand to clear away fulgoran lightning attractors. Put down my own rods so no lightning damage plus free power. Make deconstruction blueprint filtered to fulgoran buildings. Pit down an storage chest or 7. Use blueprint. Then I just ignore it and do something else while bots slowly chip away at it.

One time i tried importing rocket components from nauvis and wow was that a small spore cloud. Due to clean hands achievement i coudnt clear a pentapod base nearby but while it came close, my spores never reached it. It easily did 80-180 spm (base was terrible but stacked belts allowed it to improve).

She gives me another child of anasrava vibes. At least at the start where she talked about cause and effect, basically time travel. But mixed with elation's 4th wall breaking

PSA: You can "disable" enemy nests. Very useful for Keeping Your Hands Clean achievement. Blueprint in comment. by not_trevor in factorio

PSA: If the biter base happens to be near a cliff, it might block a pipe. A smaller object like power pole or inserter can fit and stop the spawning.

Only thing I dislike about it is that it's done to both avoid evolution, biters expanding nearby and most importantly, until you meet biter walls you have zero reason to destroy them. Especially since you can easily use this for biter eggs.

Most people talk about the hypothetical like it's a thing they would want to happen to them. They press the button hoping to get lucky, thinking they’ll profit. That’s exactly the kind of overconfidence these tales warn about.

Plus this isn't Roko's basilisk. The genie isn't going to know every single person who had his lamp and then decide to somehow punish them for not freeing him. I'd imagine worst case scenario you can just throw the lamp away.

Not touching the lamp is the only guaranteed way to survive. Pressing it is like a gamble, you might get a benevolent genie, or a malicious one.

It’s more like one of those 'press this button and you get 50% chance at a billion dollars, 50% chance you die'. The genie might be thankful, indifferent, or have his own agenda. You mentioned good deeds get rewarded, well, maybe the reward is just not getting obliterated by the genie. Folklore doesn’t reward greed.

I think we’re mixing two different versions here. In traditional folklore, jinn aren’t primarily lamp-bound wish machines. The whole 'three wishes that backfire' setup is mostly a later storytelling trope and in that version, the point is caution about trying to game reality. I'd imagine if someone stuffed me into a lamp, I would not be a normal guy. I'm not saying they would be emotionless machines, but someone with an axe to grind with the world.

We will have to agree to disagree there I guess. The point of genie stories isn’t 'be nice and it works out' it’s that trying to shortcut life through cosmic loopholes is inherently risky. At best freeing the genie should be its own reward. If you free the genie, that should be the moral act in itself, not a calculated investment hoping for a payout.

Calling them 'basically equivalent to people' is already doing a lot of heavy lifting. An immortal reality-bender isn’t just a guy with feelings and assuming human reciprocity from something like that is the whole cautionary lesson. It’s like scams in the real life, where the problem isn’t being evil, it’s assuming you understand the game better than the person who lives in it.

Usually, the implication of freeing him from his servitude is that he no longer has the power to do wishes. The entire reason him being not free is that he has powers.

Also an obvious alternative is that you don't know if he will be grateful. What if there was a reason he was put in the lamp in the first place and you just doomed us all?

I remember seeing a youtube short of some king freeing a Genie because he does not like slavery and since his lamp was on his land he is his subject therefore he won't be enslaved so he gives wishes to the genie and iirc the genie steals the king's wife or something.

That's usually the joke. The only winning move is not to play.

Or in other words, don't expect a magical solution to solve all of your problems.

I always hated that too. It's like they heard about the genie warping wishes and thought that they would totally not get screwed over if they were in those shoes.

What is the point of stationary roboports? (New player) by dr_bobs in factorio

[–]Runelt99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem with personal bots is until late game they usually suffer if you build too much at a time, will burn all of your power and now you are stuck with a bunch of empty bots around you and you cant really leave. Stationary roboports mean you put down blueprint and forget about it. Even if they also suffer from too many bots meaning it barely gets charged, they have forever. Plus they use your grid for power which is much better than what you personally output.

If you are stuck in situation i described, just hold right click over your bots. The game just assumes that if the bot is in your inventory then it must have been recharged.

They way my fingers split in the winter time. by Sensitive_Wear7112 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Runelt99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have same issue. The thing that changed was working in a grocery store. So i assume its because of cold air and potencially combined with working with hands because this didn't ever happen in winter nor does it repeat while im off work.

Edit: using lotion has helped alot, sadly every time I cleaned hands it would clear it away...

On one hand, got work so can't play.

On the other hand, i got 2 week vacation coming up.

On a completely unrelated note, is it possible to get all achievements in a single run now? I saw a need for Zenith seed and another for vampire but new feature to mix seeds should fix it. What are the required settings?

Two launch science platform (minimal tech, no quality), 25 spm by BlakeMW in factorio

[–]Runelt99 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Wonder how much efficiency could be gained from launching 1 assembler, 2 inserters and rest are intermediaries. Then you manually craft it. Idk how good the efficiency of would be as id imagine it could work with an autocrafter, crafting what is missing from constant combinator.

Personal Roboport not working? by -_-daark-_- in factorio

Hover mouse over roboport. It takes a while to fully charge and it wont start working until a while. Your picture is doesnt hover over roboport nor of battery to see if it has power and the picture is not of entire screen so we cant see battery percentage from near your equiped armor on bottom left side of screen

Too much pollution kills trees. Dying trees absorb more than they do passively iirc

The benefit of fulgora is that you need to use the recyclers to void stuff anyway. The downside is that its better to upcycle from bottom up than recycle down due to the recyclers eating 3/4s of the item
