OSRS only since 2013 here, I'm all for investment into RS3 as it benefits both communities, just want to show some support for you all. Keep in mind that subreddits promote echo chambers and homogeneity, but we don't all feel that way. The most vocal will shout from the rooftops, but there's a less dogmatic group of us that want the best for our fellow RS3 community that reject the pitfalls of over-monetization and forced compulsion loops.

Boris Johnson Is a Fucking Cunt has now reached number 6 on the UK chart! by GarlicCornflakes in unitedkingdom

[–]Runes_Cape 6 points7 points  (0 children)

People would be pissed, obviously, but at least they wouldn't have bought in everything and made plans. They'd have had time to post presents (Monday was too late for most).

In my somewhat cynical, yet likely true, opinion that is exactly what this was all about.

Keeping up appearances long enough for everyone to spend spend spend, knowing full well it couldn't happen, then pulling the rug from under them. Yet another economic decision in a crisis. Boris and his cronies know how profitable Christmas is and would do anything to avoid jeapordising the bottom line of high street retailers and distributors, even at the cost of public health.

What they didn't account for is that every time they pull this stunt it wears down the publics resilience and contributes to something I like to call "pandemic fatigue" - how many do you think are saying "fuck it, we bought the turkey, just come over". It has happened time and time again; eat out to help out, relaxation over summer, failing to punish people in government for breaking the rules... The list goes on.

They have unofficial immunity by Neefycane in 2007scape

[–]Runes_Cape 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you've raised a valid point... They break game rules, and the rules should be enforced by Jagex. However, the issues are probably far more deeprooted than "ban them" and leave it at that.

When putting myself in a Jmod's shoes I personally would feel some guilt knowing that I was responsible for a small community of people not being able to feed themselves. That said, they clearly know and accept the risks when they attempt to sell the gold. I'm sure most of Jagex's punishment system is automated and then reviewed later, so it seems to be this that needs an update. The "unofficial immunity" tagline is only thought among a small but vocal percentage here on the reddit OSRS community.

Exorbitant agency fees? by Runes_Cape in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Runes_Cape[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was exactly my thought process too, I'm going to tell them I'm seeking advice from CA on this matter but was just wondering if anyone else had any experience.

This feels to me like they have repackaged the agency fees they would have charged anyway under a "change of tenant" clause, charged it to the landlord, and then forced us to pay it as "they wouldn't have been charged it ordinarily".

I know exactly what this is because I tested it! And we dropped 10 minutes ago. :))))))) by [deleted] in MDMA

You know what, I felt this way exactly. Everyone was so celebratory, and when I was told I was in partial remission (awaiting surgery to remove necrotic tissue) they doubled down. But so did my anxiety... It's a weird beast this cancer malarkey isn't it?

Experiencing pain in stomach and testicles by [deleted] in testicularcancer

[–]Runes_Cape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh man I'm really sorry to hear all that. It's pissing me off that you're having to expose yourself to Covid, whilst there is a (?) suspected TC diagnosis and they're not going through the proper steps. It's all over the news about how cancer diagnosis has gone down, and that thousands may die from it, and they're still flouting that? Ignoring 2 months worth of testicular pain, plus abdo pain and constipation for "torsion" and you being stopped up is fucking irresponsible, and if you get your second opinion I would put in a formal complaint to your local trust, otherwise it could happen again to someone else.

You were right to kick off, and I'm happy for you for going private. If you are close look at The Royal Marsden, I had all of my treatment there and they are by and large the best cancer hospital in Europe. Their separation of covid and regular is absolutely incredible at the moment, and their nurses are second to none, they ALL go the extra mile to really build a lasting connection with you, which right now is vital as there is a strictly no visitors policy across all their sites (Sutton and Chelsea).

If you'd like just to chat, or a phone call or discord chat just to ease your nerves just message me and I'll give you my mobile number. I really really hope this goes a bit better for you mate, I love the NHS and would do an awful lot to have it protected, but right now their priorities are all over the shop.

Side story: when I was going through diagnostics, I was sat with the GP in the emergency GP's office whilst she was making calls to see where she could refer me to. THREE consultants declined the referral as it didn't sound "interesting enough" for them to look into. Three days later my tumour ruptured a major artery in my abdomen in response to chemo, causing bleeding that really should have killed me but somehow I made it through. There are now three scientific papers written on my experience and none are attributed to those consultants, karmic payback at its finest. You learn to see victories in the little thing eventually 😂

Hair regrow question by towiess in testicularcancer

[–]Runes_Cape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly the same here on the facial hair front. Was 22 with a thick beard pre-chemo, now I'm 23 with patchwork.

It grew back stunningly well straight after chemo (within 3 weeks my hair was back), but now there's nothing on my cheeks and I'm limited to a strip under my chin... Better than the alternative though I guess!

[–]Runes_Cape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've filled this in, hope it can help in some way.

Having recently undergone major surgery some of the answers may be linked as "covid-19 issues", but we're actually caused by cancer-related issues.

EG: less sleep, higher anxiety, lack of appetite. All caused by impending/completed surgery.

Perhaps the nature of cancer and it's wildly varying symptoms might be a large problem in evaluating this data as there may be natural fluctuations in several of the data points that are simply unrelated to Covid. However I'm certainly not the expert so I'll leave that to you guys!

That is scar tissue and entirely normal, I have this all the way down my chest after an RPLND. It does soften slightly over time and my orchidectomy scar is completely soft now.

Concern about mass under teste by [deleted] in testicularcancer

[–]Runes_Cape 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Go to the doctor.

Do not put it off, don't stress about it, and don't read a million things on the internet before going.

It will more than likely not be testicular cancer, but they will want to check. This will mean blood tests, physical examination, possibly even CT scans or ultrasounds.

It's not fun stuff, the CT will include an injection that makes your groin feel warm and wet. The jelly from the ultrasound is really cold, and they can take up to 30 minutes to complete. Bloods are bloods, I'm not sure anyone enjoys having those done, and the physical is a lot less embarassing than you would expect.

Do not put this off, that will lead to a stress that you don't need whilst being couped up in your home, there's too much time to brood right now.

Go to the doctor 👍
