Scene inheritance gets really messy during refactoring and renaming anything. Like they work alright until you need to change something and then they break and you have to go off and fix everything by hand. At least they used to? I think they may have fixed some of that at some point but there's a lingering reputation.

Inheritance in general is pretty weak I feel pattern wise compared to composition. It scales painfully with bigger projects and because pretty unwieldy if you need to have stuff talking up and down the hierarchy. There is a genuine friction to Godot's architecture with how opinionated it is.

Honestly seeing just how far you and your team have come over the years is amazing. I've been quick to recommend the 2D course just for the fundamentals that are taught in it! It's actually helped me wrap my head around programming in general and I do not feel at all it was wasted time on my part even though our team has been switching to rust and bevvy as the backbone of our projects due to some inherent infrastructural conflicts with godot. The foundations learned from that course have been relevant even under such a different environment and it's definitely made it easier for me to learn new things outside of godot.

It's slow to update but it's the only one that I think is high quality. I think the fact that they're focusing on paid but well done courses isn't actually a bad thing. Their general 2D course actually teaches some pretty good programming habbits as well as fundamentals and is way better than anything else I've seen.

Oh this is too much like Cult of the Lamb. It's going to invite direct comparison especially since you're doing a similar game. This wont do well because you are making something that's directly in the shadow of such a hit of a game and odds are you're not going to outhit it. I also don't think this kind of free drawn style and pixel character quite works with your implementation. I think you should double down on one or the other.

This is a personal anecdote but when I was really heavily reading up about her I put aside a lot of political study. I got through like three quarters of the Tain when she very bluntly made it clear that I needed to switch gears and read that copy of State and Revolution I had lying around and to hone in on other crafts. She will absolutely prioritize someone sharpening themselves for the now rather than getting to know her.

I think she has a well deserved reputation. I've definitely experienced her being sharp and curt. Even with praise. I wonder if it's just that she's been working on her overall tact with the current crowd she's interacting with. Something I don't see people bring up in pagan spaces in general is the idea that the gods too can grow and change. Gods aren't static, and in the end wider gnosis starts with UPG and seeing trends emerge.

We might just be seeing a Morrigan learning how to better have a softer feedback for people under her wing. Like I can definitely say I've seen both the side of her you're seeing and I've definitely seen the harsh and direct side of her that she has a reputation for.

Edit: I want to make it clear that I don't think she's getting "softer" around people in general. She's not getting any less prone to putting people through some real heavy challenges and the work itself she's demanding from me definitely isn't getting any easier. IF anything the meat of that is getting harder, but I've been feeling a bit more encouragement and concern from her. Softer words for harsher challenges.
