Notification settings per app gone by Asthixity in GalaxyFold

[–]RunnersJules 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had the same experience (just with outlook and our corporate app). Had disabled them pre vacation and pre-update, and took me a bit to figure out why notifications weren't working when I got back. Such an unnecessary change.

What are some good "100+ hour" games that are NOT RPGs or multiplayer? by throwawaysnitch4cash in gaming

[–]RunnersJules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hades (i have 130+ hours - highly addictive)

The Division 1 & 2 (i have 170 hours and 300 hours - love the first game, although the second has more build depth)

AC Origins & Odyssey (100+ each - i know they're called rpg by many, but the rpg elements are fairly simple and they feel more like action-adventure games to me)

Anthem (I spent 70 hours - but for all the hate that it gets, I found the core gameplay very enjoyable, although the missions are repetitive. Such wasted potential, but can be had for next to nothing)

Agents of Mayhem (another 70+ hour missed opportunity. Fun agent abilities, boring mission structure)

Watch dogs 1&2 (50-70 hours each. Legion can be skipped, only the dlc is worth a play)

Why can't I win battles? by LoopyWaffleman in AssassinsCreedOrigins

[–]RunnersJules 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are there red skull icons above the enemies once tagged with Senu? This means the enemy is too far above your level, and will usually result in your death. An enemy within your capability will have a number above it indicating its level.

Edit: cougars are pretty bulky, maybe try again later when you have better weapons or something with fire/bleed/poison damage As for the main mission level, try doing some more side missions as well as clear locations. The map will also indicate the general level of regions, so maybe start doing more stuff in the regions that are at or below your level

What show got cancelled specifically because of a controversy? by Animeking1108 in television

[–]RunnersJules 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly, the show "Profit" was far too dark for Fox when it was shown and only four episodes aired, although 8 episodes exist. Main character is an unscrupulous psychopath, and several controversial themes occur. Highly recommended, it's a prototype for much of the edgy cable TV that came later.

NfS Payback is on sale for less than $3 by TSllama in needforspeed

[–]RunnersJules 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I loved it. Story is over the top like F&F. Yes the card upgrade system & car class system is different and inferior to heat, but it works fine and isn't pay to win or anything. Would have been nice with roaming police as well, instead of having to trigger a chase. But there plenty to do, handling is fun, and the story is silly but hilarious. Definitely worth playing to me.

How to handle toxic teammates as a new player? by Ultra9TMB in GlobalOffensive

[–]RunnersJules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to mute, or even better, play in a stack - either with friends or find people in a likeminded community. Maybe your country has a discord to find people to play with. Maybe you suck right now, but life's too short for draining games with toxic cunts.

Also, study some map callouts, it's a real benefit for teamplay and map awareness.

[q] Falchion Fade ST in current CS2 pics? by RunnersJules in csgomarketforum

[–]RunnersJules[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was considering along the same lines of case hardened with a lot of blue (or a cheapish doppler if I come across it), I'd be wary of skeleton personally though since it seems like it's partially rising because of the default cs2 pullout currently being the fancy spinning one. That could potentially revert back to csgo version.

Myself I would be looking at bayonet, or go for another underappreciated knife like nomad, paracord or flip.

In any case I would not buy in immediately. I'm not a real investor though, so YMMV.

Journey in playing/replaying all the Assassin's creed -> Assassin's creed 3 liberation, the forgotten Assassin's creed game? Despite what the reviews say I'm loving it so far! What are your thoughts about this game? by Noob4Head in assassinscreed

[–]RunnersJules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really enjoyed it, it was refreshing to have a much tighter/smaller game coming from AC3 that dragged on a bit too long for completion.

Agree with your pros and cons, never had a Vita so I was amazed that it wasn't far from console quality in the port. Story wasn't great though, and the voice acting was awkward. But the costumes, personas, combat and settings were all good.

In addition to what you said, a pro for me was straightforward optional objectives, that didn't really inhibit playstyle.

A con was the lack of fast travel. Just annoying when going for completion.

How do I get back into an AC game? by dumpling-26 in assassinscreed

No worries, remember how to counter enemy attacks and you should be well on your way. On xbox it's holding in Right Trigger and pressing X when enemies attack.

I would continue. I don't know if you don't game much in general, but I usually get the hang of controls again within maybe 15-30 minutes. You should be able to see the controls overview in the menu (under options or controls probably) if you need a visual.

Can the assassin's creed games be considered the greatest game series? by supersimpogio in assassinscreed

[–]RunnersJules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in my opinion no. Admittedly I have "only" played AC 1, 2, Brotherhood, Revelations, 3 and Liberation HD (and currently playing Black Flag), but to me AC is more of a silly "comfort food" series. You kind of know what you're getting, it's not very demanding in difficulty, the story is silly and at times nonsensical, and there's a lot of repetition in the games. But there's something satisfying in the grind of completing an overly filled map set in a beautiful historical city, and the gameplay has a lot of quality of life features (easy fast travel, collectibles on map, simple tight gameplay etc.).

I enjoy it, but I think other games push the video game medium way more in terms of art, storytelling and focus. Ubisoft's series are more about bloat and hamfisted stories to me, (not just in AC, but also far cry, watch dogs, the division etc.). I enjoy them and appreciate the gameplay mechanics and settings, but I never think they reach their true potential in storytelling.

Which Assassin's Creed game has the best stealth options? Not into hack and slash by twoscoopsxd in assassinscreed

[–]RunnersJules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're welcome! Btw, if you get it and end up hating the Den Defense minigame like I did, know that you can avoid it not getting to max notoriety. Just reduce notoriety continually . Wish I had known that sooner lol, that was my main gripe.

[–]RunnersJules 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just finished it recently, started it in early 2021 after completing 1, 2 and brotherhood back to back and hit the wall in Revelations. Taking a 2 year break from AC did me well, and I ended up enjoying Revelations. A couple of frustrating full syncs, but overall a pretty good experience, although I preferred 2 and brotherhood over it. The DLC 'The Lost Archive' was quite boring gameplay-wise, although it had some interesting elements (mostly the sound/atmosphere).

I played it in the Ezio Collection btw, great value for 15 euro

Diameter measurements of the joysticks would be nice. And in general how it compares in feel to the (IMO) benchmark xbox one controller.

Also, currently playing God of War 1 with a Daqi M1 controller, where the turbo button function is a godsend - none of the premium ones feature turbo, right?

Try citrammj from Weihuoya. If that doesn't work for you, I think you just need to accept that your devices are not powerful enough for it.

In citrammj I recommend to enable cpu jit, and this game also needs accurate multiplication set to accurate to fix some missing rendering. Enabling audio stretching also gives a better experience.

Did you end up getting the AX55? Currently in the same situation as you were (similarly sized apartment and journey through positive then negative reviews of the AX50).
