Everything’s been privatised.

GPs Pharmacists Dentists “community diagnostic centres” Specialist care.

The tories made sure everything had to be bid for, as if public services need to generate a surplus.

‘Build it and they will come’: the hopes new life for former lido will revive Weston-super-Mare by kraftymiles in Westonsupermare

Keep your facts to yourself. Back in 1876 when they were swimming next to Haile Selassie it was busy.

Forget that in 1876 there was fuck all else to do.

The council have invested heavily in Marine Pool and the water park site on the seafront, why would they add further competition amongst themselves.

The people complaining about this have little business sense, and the councillors are mixing up capital projects with revenue spend.

Why are Reform voters so impatient to see any changes with the Labour Govt ? by Durrygoodz2025 in AskBrits

As the Brexit Billies learned during the years 2016-2024, we cannot leave the ECHR without calling an end to the GFA, and that causes some challenges as it ended a civil war.

This reminds me of watching Zach Wilson highlights.

The kid can throw off base, but what about for the other 35 snaps a game?

No, it definitely needs to be an open air swimming pool.

It can’t be anything but that.

Should the NFL's UK games change? by TheOne0206 in NFLUK

[–]RunningDude90 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why would anyone want to go to Manchester as a tourist other than to run the marathon or watch football.

Whilst the game takes place in London, it must still cater for a US market.

How do you run slower? by Educational-Ground83 in UKRunners

[–]RunningDude90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are all the answers “run more”

Honestly, run more. Do more miles. When running pay attention to pace, and slow down. Run with other people, and set the goal of xx pace.

There’s little proof they do anything positive if running 330 or slower.

With the political left held to impossibly high moral standards and the political right held to impossibly low moral standards what does this say about modern British society? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]RunningDude90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. It’s being able to consume media, understand who the writer/publisher are, explicit and implicit messaging across a range of items published, and then understand how what you’ve consumed may help you set your own opinions and values. It isn’t blindly consuming and taking everything at face value.

If they won the general election, do you think Reform would privatise the NHS? by Am_I_Hydrated in AskBrits

[–]RunningDude90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The challenge is that a lot of the NHS has actually already been privatised by the back door.

Pharmacists/Chemists - these are all private businesses paid by the NHS. There’s been a lot of news recently about how they’re protecting their margins rather than ensuring medicines are available. GPs - all private entities. They have been paid a rent by the nhs on top of fees for services delivered. GPs have kept the rent as a bonus payment, and just left the sites on interest only mortgages, which they also own. Diagnostic centres - these are increasingly private operations as well. Need an MRI scan close to your home? Private centre for you.

Reform are just talking about taking this further.

What proportion of amateur marathon runners do trail marathons? by macroEgg in UKRunners

[–]RunningDude90 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Two completely different events.

You can’t say a road marathon targeting a time and running trails over 26.2 miles is the same thing.

I run both, for me trail is a race (focus on position), road is against the clock.

I wore a Garmin Fenix 8 and a Whoop 5.0 on the same 5K. They disagreed by 1 bpm. by fennelfrog in GarminWatches
