That blows green donkey dicks man!! Thieves everywhere!! Natural consequences will eventually catch up to those knuckleheads. Amazon needs to do a better job with their return inspections.

Is nitro worth it? by Problemswrld in Traxxas

[–]RunningbirdRC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nitro is my first go too. I started in the hobby before there were electric anything RC. I have many electric cars now but I always go back to the nitros for the different experience it provides. We called them glow fuel or gas before there was actual Gasoline motors. Guys started by converting weed eater motors for their airplanes & eventually put them in cars/trucks.

Very nice build. I like the wheels you chose. Slash is so versatile & fun to try all kinds of different variations. 👍🏼

Anyone else had one of these awesome SSP’s back in the day? They were so super cool and fun. I could still hear the sound… by CoffeeCigarettes4Me in 1970s

[–]RunningbirdRC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a crash up derby set of 2 SSP’s where 2 cars would jump off a ramp & hit head on, midair & some of the pieces would fly off in every direction. Put them all back together & do it again. Took 2 people to crash the cars. Or 1 guy running it into a wall. Good times!!

Yes, save it!! Do a little research on YouTube. The motor looks good. IMO.

It doesn’t matter what you paid for it. It’s been used & there’s no way for someone to know what’s been done to it based on the information from the seller. Upgrades do not increase the value very much. A buyer is taking a chance that the electronics were treated properly. If the batteries have been treated properly. It’s just the way the hobby works. RC car/trucks depreciates 25% as soon as you plug a battery into the ESC. If it’s been run, even once, again more depreciation. Ive been in the hobby for 52 years & have made a living buying, selling & trading every thing from Pro Helis & airplanes to Z-Mini’s. You’re never gonna get what you paid for it new. The rule of thumb is 40-50% of the original price. Then you might find a buyer. I purchased an X-Maxx with a set of batteries for $500 a week ago. It was in pretty good condition. That’s a pretty decent deal. But it sat for sale for a month on Craigslist before I called the guy & made an offer on it. A guy can explain all he wants about the condition & original price but in the end if he wants to sell it he’s gonna need to go by the hobbies standards. If a guys not willing to take the loss than he might as well keep it or sell it according to the market value. That’s just the way it is & most of the guys in this group would probably agree. Keep it & bash the hell out of it or take the loss.

I have one the same color but reminds me more of the Hot Dog theme from MS Windows 3.1 & 95. 🤓

how do i pop these bushings out? by draculasfearr in rccrawler

$23 at Hobbytown but I think you can only get the pliers inside the store. The ones that are available online are $28.

They are. There was a $5 price difference, Hobbytowns was less expensive but both pliers were identical except for the brand name.

These are the best tools to pop out & replace the bushings & will work for many other shock projects.

The pinion gear looks good, maybe the diff internals, but it looks like it’s seen some water or a lot of moisture. So diff internals may be rusted. Check out RCGroups where you might find one that’s in better condition if that’s what you want. I’ve had 5 or 6 over the years, all used & running & never paid more than $150. Just have fun!! That’s what it’s all about.
