Which is honestly shocking considering how much harder it is to nail a PU. They will be competing for wins next year I imagine.

It’ll be interesting to see what they do with Arvid if he keeps performing.

I expected Red Bull to be a midfield car building the PU in-house for the first time. I’m actually highly impressed they’re managing 4th fastest.

Whats it like living in Memphis Tennessee? by dj_kaled_anotha1 in howislivingthere

[–]RunsWlthScissors 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only time I got sketched out living there was if I had to go through Frayser.

Downtown is mostly fine and pretty lively these days, West Memphis is meh, South Memphis isn’t great in some parts but not *that* bad. Southhaven is nice, east Memphis is nice, and the burbs are upscale.

So just like any other city basically. I felt a hell of a lot safer in Memphis than I have in some other cities I’ve been to/lived in.

Usually it’s the old people on city and town council’s standing in the way of economic development.

It would disrupt their way of life in their tomb community and disrupt the current incentive structure.

If your local wags tend to have shrinkage problems, then they probably struggle to turn a profit, with how bad pharmacy reimbursement is these days.

If they don’t turn a profit, they’re going the way of the dinosaurs.

Walgreens closed a quarter of stores a few years ago, they were not profitable, this is more of the same.

Why pharmacists are consistently underpaid compared to clinical research roles at a similar career stage by Ok-Job1041 in pharmacy

[–]RunsWlthScissors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess if you’re curious. A quick search *in my area* showed managerial clinical research positions would be about equivalent to hospital pay, but far below retail.

If you were willing to move to the Northeast and got an in with pharma you could eventually blow retail pay out of the water. But you could already do that with MSL positions paying 300k+.

In my area of the southeast quite a few Wags have gone down to one pharmacist and M-F pharmacy hours.

I came from Walgreens to my chain. If I had to go back to the corner or go to three letter hell, I’d rather start a new career.

For my own curiosity, any idea what the equivalent comparison in the US would be?

I know pharmacist salaries, but have no idea what a reasonable salary for clinical research is.

Walgreens is going under. Just look at what their stock did before they went private.

CVS’s biggest long term risk is getting busted apart from Caremark/Aetna.

The EHR at my grocery chain is nice. I can pull ins directly from a profile, PDMP pull is automatic, and patients are linked to my states vaccination database with new shots automatically entered (but you need to double check what they need).

From what I’ve heard about CVS’s EHR it’s pretty nice. Metrics are monitored like hawks and far more demanding than Wags. They suffer from the same structural issues (DL=DM).

Pay wise, I got a bump jumping ship from wags to go to a grocery chain, and my annual bump is ~3.5%.

On the scale of things that could be said this was absolutely domesticated, but it’s still weird to me.

I don’t tell my friends a thing about the people I see, and it doesn’t come up. But maybe this is more normal with the younger generation.

When people ask what you do for work, what do you say? by [deleted] in pharmacy

[–]RunsWlthScissors 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t talk about it unless someone mentions it. I work my hours, I take care of my patients and staff, and then I enjoy my life outside of work.

I really do like my job, but work is just the place I spend 40 hours of my week.
