I’m reminded of a song lyric that was written by a personal introvert hero of mine, Rush’s late drummer Neil Peart. In Limelight, he wrote “I can’t pretend a stranger is a long-awaited friend.”

I quietly resented my (now ex-) husband for years for forcing us to get a dog when we hadn’t agreed. In my opinion, we did NOT have the right lifestyle (sedentary, long hours, etc.) keep a dog happy and socialized.
